Just an idea and i think it would look pretty impressive if the majority of the J/H/L blocks could do this--

Like the kop- Raise charlton scarves when we sing Valley Floyd Road or when the Red Red Robin is played.
I think this would look amazing even if it is only the top 5 rows of a few blocks,

Maybe we could start this at charlton?

If we spread the word, buy our scarves [ppl nr the railway bridge], raise them high could look absolutely AMAZING.

Get behind the reds.

    Thats because they're Liverpool supporters,
we have an ounce of intelligence.

Just wondering what you guys thought of it.

  • Personally I think scarves are a bit ginger beer.

i suggested this last year and there was lots of comments of who wears scarves - i am up for this! We were at Charring Cross on Wednesday after Burt Bacharach concert (fabby) but lots of cheelski fans came all with blue and white striped scarves - there was so many exactly the same they must have been handed out foc

Actually I can see a steward shouting "you could ave someones eye out with that!". So it would never get off the ground, but it looks good

With every scarf purchased, you get a free pair of safety glasses FOC ;-)

Could the safety glasses not be rose tinted but painted black? It may help some on here get through some games
  • quite a few of us are up for this. So if you want to do it, lets go for it, during valleyfr we will hold them up. This will inspire the players when they look up! Come on charlton.

I was to busy shouting at people at the front of Block J, upper, who were boo-ing, to notice.
thought it was good idea from you, hope it picks up.

PS. Mrs.M thought i was gonna get whacked by somebody for shouting at them, but was genuinly suprised at H/T and after how many people came up and thanked me !

it's a great idea but will always be met with sarcasm by the cynical old bastards on here who love nothing better than to moan rather than support.

A scarves day was one of the ideas that came up at the last Target 40k meeting. Would be good to combine with a Kids for a Quid day IMHO but presumes that we could find a sponsor to pay for 20,000 scarves.
  • they were knocking out 'old school' red and white scarves after the match for 2 quid.. probably to late to arrange it for Barnsley but with kids for a kid day would be a blinding bit of marketing to give everyone a scarve.

    Bump for this.

The scarves are on sale by the burger van outside the club shop/by Ransom Walk. £2 a pop isn't much to pay is it?

Would be a brilliant sight if we got it going.

  • A couple of years ago there was this Valley flags idea.

    It was shit.

It was shit namely because any FAN carrying a flag was also to all intent (as far as the police are concerned) carrying a potential offensive weapon. It would b great if we could take flags into the stadium.. but we can't.

I suggested a couple of years ago that we should have scarves, in the same way that Newcastle united gave their fans scarves.

I was told that waving scarves was for poofters.

I still think it's a good idea.. as long as the red-red-robin-goes-bob-bob-bobbing along.

must say the flag thing is pathetic IMHO
And the kid losing his fog horn same thing

I mean you can strangle people with scarves so they should be banned as well ?

This is the UK nothing would shock me anymore

...Could always dig out those Clappers...or the masks!
  • I like clappers. I remember there was someone who always used to bring one about 10 years ago.. I think they might have been sitting in the old covered end.
