[cite]Posted By: Stig[/cite]Haven't seen it and don't plan to. Not until the rest of the clan decide it's time to drag me along kicking and screaming. Not keen on Bond, or action movies generally; as soon as I see the first fist fight, car chase or shoot out I want to fall asleep. See one and you've seen them all.
I like the new Bond but I think they runied some great sequences with the now cleeshayed over jerky camera shakes cinematography. There also weren't enough of them. I think its unecessary to lose the gadgets and humour just to be edgy, Connery era managed to include both while maintaining edgyness - kinda loses the Bond feel abit otherwise and become more Bourney.
But dont forget this is supposedly Bond at the outset of his career in the Secret Service, leading on from Casino Royale, kind of how they did the Star Wars films, in the reverse order for the last couple.
His character & personality would eventually relax, and his humour would come through as he builds his confidence, cynacism etc, like we all do in new jobs. And eventually he would be introduced to new gadgets the further he gets into his career and his reputation grows within the organisation, thats my take on it anyway.

As a kid I used to love the gadgets because they seemed fantastic at the time. Nowadays it doesn't work because you have the feeling that (with the exception of the ridiculous invisible car) all this stuff is, or at least could quite easily be, available to any wanabee spy.
Daniel Craig has said he believes the world is ready for a black James Bond.
The Quantum of Solace actor, 40, said he felt Barack Obama's election to US president meant audiences were ready for different ethnicities to be represented in the public eye.
"After Barack Obama's victory I think we might have reached the moment for a coloured 007," he told the Daily Telegraph.
"I think the role could easily be played by a black actor because the character created by Ian Fleming in the '50s has undergone a great deal of evolution and continues to be updated."
Saw it yesterday and having had read a lot of the reviews wasn't expecting too much in terms of plot etc - which was a bit weak - but all in all it was entertaining enough.
Not many clever one-liners and a bit reliant on having seen Casino Royale to fully appreciate all that was going on, and it was certainly Bond at his most ruthless.
[cite]Posted By: Henry Irving[/cite]The three Bourne Films on DVD £15 from HMV by Moorgate tube this PM.
Im reading the books. (Picked up 2nd hand originals from Ebay). I love the Bourne films, but the storylines are much better in the books and are totally different in terms of locations etc.

I'm not normally but I do enjoy Bond films.
When they decide the time is right for me to go, and they will, I plan to sneak my iPod in.
I wish I had remembered this statement when you were getting all high and mighty about Ross and Brand Chirps... ;-)
