..but how do I bleed single rads, i can see the bleed valves on the doubles but am being stupid - the singles don't appear to have them (at the top where the doubles do)

You need to take them off of the wall and put some anti air paste around the two threads.Put them back on.

Sometimes the valves just have a screwdriver slot instead of the old fashioned valve key. All rads have valves.Doubles and singles.

my wife would piss herself laughing i am the worst diy person in the world but i do know how to bleed all the radiators in the house.
