Following on from the smallest away support thread.

Doesn't have to be large numbers. Just general atmosphere and everything else.

Carlisle away 86 2-0 down, 3-2 up always sticks in my mind.

Fulham away that season as well. Won 3-0 I believe.

Newcastle the first year back in the Premier was also pretty good as was Liverpool in the 3-3.

My number one is probably beating Dalgliesh 2-0 at Ewood circa 1997. Pitch invasions, congas round that big open terrace. Very very loud.....those were the days.

Blackburn was great, thought the 2-2 the previous season was great too, Leaburn's head beating Gorman's overhead to the ball.

    Crystal Palace when Kitson scored.

Let me add the Return to The Valley Pompey game the South Stand whoops Jimmy Seed stand was rocking. That stand does make a noise !! Pards is right AGAIN !!

Crewe away, play off winning season. 3-0, sang for 90 mins, didn't hear a peep out of the Crewe fans. Kins and the others all running into the away end when the thrid goal went in.

Forgot that Crewe game. Mills scored on his debut. Kinsella jumped into the crowd when he scored the 3rd.

As for Leaburns first goal in 1933 games.....nah. that was at Villa Park. Wasn't even his goal. OG Derek Mountfield. Think Tommy Caton scored an absolute rocket that day.

mat utd away in the fa cup was a great day out, i had only been able to attend local away games as i was still quite young, so i went with my dad, couldnt belive seeing all the coaches in charlton where we lived.. took us 15 mins to find our coach!! i know we lost but will never forget that day with my dad. HAd to be the largest charlton away ive been in apart from wembley..
  • Ipswich 5th Round as Clivey_hero said was my best ever joint with Carlise 3-2. Spurs away in the 80's cup game was superb as well.

Blackburn in the cup Tuesday night, Pitcher's deflection.

Kitson's winner at Sellout takes a lot of beating.

Come on, lets face it despite some of you doomsayers - there has been absolutely loads hasn't there? Huddersfield away 1-0, Brighton 2-1, Fulham 3-0, Port Vale 1-0, Arsenal 0-0, Chelsea relegation game......
  • .... West Ham goodbye horse
  • Starting a chant of 'We want 5' at Highbury - great crowd, great day :-)

Villa away, Mills in the last minute, russian dancing, broken knee caps, Riscardo in fancy dress, balti pies and broken seats, crowd loving it

Personal favourite was Oulu away pre-season - don't remember the football so much as the 'activities' that went on before (and after)...but I guess that's a different thread...
  • Hang on.... Riscardo in fancy dress? That could be any game ;-)

    Oulu away?????

Mr Charlie you must have been hammered (I was). The game was in Oulu the team were FC Tevarit!!!.

Remember standing on the seats on the open side singing Rule Brittania, God Save the Queen etc etc whilst some mad 50 year old Fins foamed at the mouth and threw insults at us.

Agree the game was shite but the pre & post match activities were legendary.

BTW - am meeting up with Mr JP in Greenwich on Saturday night if you are about for an ale.

This gives me an idea for a new thread....the weirdest place you've seen Charlton play?.

Was anyone else on here on the coach to Carlisle in May 1986, Big D(RIP), and I think 1905 was on it, we were all pissed by Dartford Tunnel, if memory serves I got picked up at Shooters Hill nick about 5am.

    Went on a coach.

Longest journey ever. Left at 6.30 at got there at 2.45pm.

Was only 12 at the time so sadly hadn't discovered the ale....
  • Best Charlton

    Palace 2007
    Carlisle 86
    Coventry in the Cup
    Liverpool 95
    Leeds 92

    Best England

    Amsterdam (Vassell)
    Anything in 04 and 06
    Poland in the 01/02

I actually thought Palace in 2000 was a shambles. 8000 fans, half the crowd, we should have stood and absolutely taken the piss, in the end they took the piss out of us.

1700 a few years later was ten times better
