typical they blame Carson straight away rather than say anything against Terry , so want Benty to do the business but that was a bad miss.

England once again playing very well though
  • Agreed - England look very good in the most part, especially since this is essentially the reserve side. Even Downing looks good tonight. Like to see Ashley Young on and Jimmy Bullard too.

To be fair to Benty - Very wet in Berlin and his foot did give way just as he was shooting.

You can take the lads out of Charlton............
  • got a text from a West Ham mate saying ENGLAND 1-CHARLTON 2 (When it was 1-1),we all know darren aint got a left foot thats why 17 mill for a one footed player was excellent business.

We can look at it as rose-tinted as you like, but its Carson's responsibility. He is the one facing play, Terry has his back to the play. If it is for Terry to put out, it is down to Carson to instruct him to put it out, Carson is already 12 yards out of his goal, which is enough to put the doubt in the defenders mind when he is unsure what is behind him.

The call should always come from the one facing the play.

I make you right Afka the ball, John Terry and the German forward should all have been put in row z, no ones ever scored from row z. thats proper football. ;-)

Agreed Rothko, can't blame Carson for that. Your taught at school boy level to clear if there is any danger whatsoever.

I have played centre half for 20 years that mistake was Terry's 100% you never put your goalkeeper in a situation like that.

As for the performance, fantastic to win in their backyard for a change with our reserve team. Now I wonder how many of our 'injured' players make a miraculous recovery & play this weekend ?
  • Aren't they "banned" from doing so, or is that just Qualifiers ?

One footed? Hardly. Scored quite a few goals with his left foot.

If you watch the replay you'll see his trailing legs gets caught by the keeper's hands, as he takes his next stride that leg would then be the standing foot when he shoots, but due to the contact it's not quite there, hence he slips as he shoots. That's the difference between benty and the so called "top strikers", can you see an owen or a van-nistleroy ever trying to stay on their feet and get the shot off? He should of gone over, got the pen, keeper off, we win 3 or 4 nil instead of 2-1 and we don't have to listen to the idiotic "experts" slagging him off when they have the replay in front of them showing the contact
