Was supposed to join QPR last week but has now signed a 5 week loan deal with Charlton. Will be in the squad to face QPR.

If he plays tomorrow night he'll be a popular lad with the qpr faithful!

Steinsson has good Scandi contacts so thats an interesting scoop.

    Cheers Steinsson !

Not to sure what to make of that, particularly as we brought the young lad in up front last week.

    Thoughts ?

    read on Soundas...

'Sousa will not be able to count on the services of Bolton's Heidar Helguson after a proposed loan move to QPR collapsed for a second time. Negotiations with sporting director
Gianni Paladini broke down yesterday after QPR changed the terms of the deal'

I can only imagine that Gray's problems are ongoing and he needs time away, no other big lads so get Heider in.

as Pards would say 'you can never have too many strikers' (especially one's that can't score !!)

Probably a replacement for Gray, who, if what someone told me is true, he doesn't need to be playing football at the moment.

depending on what you heard but yes he has a major personal issue and I'm surprised he's even able to play at the moment. Wouldn't surprise me if he joined a Club up North on loan.

    What's that then BRE?

Large as I'm sure you, me and others on here well know we do have one that can score. Pards just chose not to play him but I'm sure that, under the new "Parky" regime, the lad Dickson will get ample opportunity to prove his worth.

PS Surely CAFC Lifers didn't expect my Agenda to change just because we've sacked Pards did they?

Looks like there is something in this. The Guardian also reporting it has fallen through at QPR and that he will instead line-up against them tomorrow night - for us!

If so congrats to Parky and the board for pulling off a bit of a coup - not even 11th hour, but more like 13th hour, if true.

Seems to have been one of those on-off sagas.Apparently the story of his signing has been put up and taken down two or three times on QPR's OS, although it is currently still there at the moment.

But he wasn't at Watford for their game on Sat and was reportedly back up north...my QPR friend says they are "perplexed''...

If it happens could be just the sort of psychological filip Parky and the team need. Sends out lots of good messages rather than the note of desperation struck by Waghorn's signing - not least that the notion nobody half-decent wants to come to SE7 in our current mess isn't necessarily true..
  • After what has happened over the recent few days i would be suprised that they would be bring in another froward after the kid in coming in from Sunderland, and would we have the time to do the deal as well as the money for his wages

Now on the Daily Mirror web-site:

Bolton striker Heidar Helguson snubs QPR to sign for Charlton By Alan Nixon 24/11/2008

"Bolton striker Heidar Helguson is signing for Charlton today - in time to make a controversial debut against QPR.

The Icelandic star walked out on Rangers at the weekend when they tried to change the terms of his loan move from Wanderers - and now he could come back to haunt them.

Helguson has agreed to join managerless Charlton until the start of January - with a view to a permanent deal - and he will be thrown in for a debut at Rangers tomorrow.

Helguson's on-off transfer to the Hoops collapsed when the London outfit demanded that he signed for them until January 31, a date that would have stopped him signing for any other club if it did not work out.

The Bolton star was due to play for the Loftus Road club at Watford on Saturday but packed his bags hours before kick-off. He is now set to meet them under very different circumstances."

I'm really pleased about this if it happens. Just the boost Parky needs to get him off to a flying start. QPR were apparently a Charlton-like shambles on Saturday so who knows what might be possible tomorrow night? Bring on the second away win of the season!

If this is true it'll be very interesting to see who he's paired with. And I bet Dickson, McLeod and Fleetwood are looking anxiously over their shoulders.

Well I think Andy Gray needs to be sent on indefinite compassionate leave, Carly Burn, so if the Helguson deal goes through, it's a temporary loan replacement of like with like (although hopefully not too alike - rather better, one would hope...)

Can someone enlighten me as to Andy Gray's personal problem. A whisper will suffice.

Surely the point of a loanee is that they go straight in, the point of bringing someone in for a short period is to utilise them to the maximum whilst we can, waste of time otherwise.
