... A policeman knew my name
He said "you can go sleep at home tonight if you can get up and walk away"
I staggered back through the underground and the breeze blew back my hair
I remember throwing punches around and preaching from my chair
They finally threw me out
My mom got drunk on stout,
My dad couldn't stand on two feet,
As he lectured about morality.
Now I guess the family's complete,
With me hanging round on the street
I'll sing my song to the wide open spaces
I'll sing my heart out to the infinite sea
I'll sing my visions to the sky high mountains
I'll sing my song to the free, to the free
I'll sing my song to the wide open spaces
I'll sing my heart out to the infinite sea
I'll sing my visions to the sky high mountains
I'll sing my song to the free, to the free
I was at both of the Who gigs at the Valley in 1974 and 1976. in 1974 my dad was working there on behalf of the LEB and I was backstage with him. I got the autographs of most of the performers that day on the programme. Daltry, Townsend, Entwhistle, Paul Rogers, Lou Reed, Maggie Bell, Ronnie Montrose, Sammy Hagar to name but a few. It would be worth a fortune these days if my mum hadn't chucked it out along with all of my Charlton programmes when I left home...:o(

I've got my clipboard, text books. Lead me to the station. Yeah, I'm off to the civil war
I've got my kit bag, my heavy boots. I'm runnin' in the rain. Gonna run till my feet are raw
Slip kid, slip kid, second generation
And I'm a soldier at thirteen
Slip kid, slip kid, realization
There's no easy way to be free
No easy way to be free
I left my doctor's prescription bungalow behind me. I left the door ajar.
I left my vacuum flask. Full of hot tea and sugar. Left the keys right in my car
Slip kid, slip kid, second generation
Only half way up the tree
Slip kid, slip kid, I'm a relation
I'm a soldier at sixty-three
No easy way to be free
Keep away old man, you won't fool me
You and your history won't rule me
You might have been a fighter, but admit you failed
I'm not affected by your blackmail
You won't blackmail me
Slip kid, slip kid, slip out of trouble
Slip over here and set me free
Slip kid, slip kid, second generation
You're slidin down the hill like me
No easy way to be free
No easy way to be free
No easy way to be free
I don't mind if you try once in a while,
I don't mind if I cry once in a while,
The doors aren't shut as tight as they might seem,
I'm just trying to fight my way out of this dream.

Where love falls from the trees
My heart is like a broken cup
I only feel right on my knees
I spit out like a sewer hole
Yet still recieve your kiss
How can I measure up to anyone now
After such a love as this?
Pure Genius
My mom got drunk on stout,
My dad couldn't stand on two feet,
As he lectured about morality.
Now I guess the family's complete,
With me hanging round on the street
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
Who Gig
This song is over
I'm left with only tears
I must remember
Even if it takes a million years
I'll sing my heart out to the infinite sea
I'll sing my visions to the sky high mountains
I'll sing my song to the free, to the free
I'll sing my song to the wide open spaces
I'll sing my heart out to the infinite sea
I'll sing my visions to the sky high mountains
I'll sing my song to the free, to the free
C'mon you reds!!!
And history ain't changed

I have just given up on my lent giving up and I am now keeping on keeping on.
Sorry Curtis
Black and hairy, very small
Now he's up above my head
Hanging by a little thread
Now he's dropped on to the floor
Heading for the bedroom door
Maybe he's as scared as me
Creepy, crawly
Creepy, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
There he is wrapped in a ball
Doesn't seem to move at all
Perhaps he's dead, I'll just make sure
Pick this book up off the floor
He's come to a sticky end
Don't think he will ever mend
Never more will he crawl 'round
He's embedded in the ground

But thanks for trying.

Try this:
'Cause she's playing all night
And the music's all right
Mama's got a squeeze box
Daddy never sleeps at night
im dressed right for a street fight
and im leaping along
I don't mind if I cry once in a while,
The doors aren't shut as tight as they might seem,
I'm just trying to fight my way out of this dream.
Yippee i a
You thought that I would need a crystal ball to see right through the haze
