I just watched Spike Island on iplayer. A film about 5 teenage boys from Manchester who are desperate to see The Stone Roses in concert in 1990. Recommended viewing for fans.

I was there - really! Have to admit somewhat the worse for wear but I do recall the sound was pretty poor & it took all night to get out if the site such was the traffic congestion/chaos. Saw the Stone Roses quite a few times 1987-1991 - Spike Island was the worst of all the shows I saw..
Seemed to have split after the Glasgow gig, but nothing has been confirmed. I really hope not, because I thought there was the chance of a decent 3rd album there and Wembley and Dublin (last year) were two great gigs for me.
There was a piece in the NME a little while ago with John Robb, their biographer, who wasn't sure either and it's thought that Brown is working on a solo album.
Interesting bit for me at the end was the comments from Liam Gallagher, who said he'd love to be in a band again and the Roses and Richard Ashcroft, would be his ideal. Mine too

Not really, but if you accepted everyone who said they were there, the attendance would have been something like10x the 30k that actually were!

There were some funny parts and it wasn't the worst film I've seen but it was far from the best.
