Well f*ck me, I always thought that the James Taylor from the JT Quartet and James Taylor the singer were the same person. I've even seen the JTQ live a couple of times and never realised (although I was probably drunk!)

Should check out James Taylor and Joni Mitchell Live at the Albert Hall.
  • James Taylor/The Prisoners are from the Medway Towns. Similar in style, but not exactly the same as Thee Milkshakes and every other Billy Childish ensemble.

The Prisoners had a Moddish, three button feel and JT has moved on since then, like a lot of the 70s/80s mod bands, and was part of the Acid Jazz stable.

Others may disagree and put me right.

The original James Taylor was a drunken Hippy ;-)
  • The Theme from Starsky & Hutch...?

Yeah, I like Billy Childish and his 50 other bands, so there is a big chance I will like The Prisoners.
