[cite]Posted By: CHG[/cite]Is this the James Taylor from the Prisoners? Are they any good, mate said I should check them out?
No
No to are they any good as well?
Sorry, should have said this is the singer/songwriter.
Never heard of the prisoners
Just wikipedia'd your James Taylor, the guy out of the Prisoners went on to form the James Taylor quartet.
Back to the thread, sorry, I don't know five songs by your James Taylor.
Well f*ck me, I always thought that the James Taylor from the JT Quartet and James Taylor the singer were the same person. I've even seen the JTQ live a couple of times and never realised (although I was probably drunk!)
James Taylor/The Prisoners are from the Medway Towns. Similar in style, but not exactly the same as Thee Milkshakes and every other Billy Childish ensemble.
The Prisoners had a Moddish, three button feel and JT has moved on since then, like a lot of the 70s/80s mod bands, and was part of the Acid Jazz stable.

Others may disagree and put me right.
The original James Taylor was a drunken Hippy ;-)
Yeah, I like Billy Childish and his 50 other bands, so there is a big chance I will like The Prisoners.
