[cite]Posted By: Six-a-bag-of-nuts[/cite]Couldn't we just turn the Jimmy Seed stand around to face the other way?
    ;-)
    And the North Stand please!

Yeah lets go for it we could swap ends at half time so we are always at the ending charlton are shooting!!

Fragmented vocal support; the far east and the covered end. Any east stand vocal support will only provoke more vocal from the opposition. This suggestion would also create a difficult situation when we play in the FA cup and the oppo wants more than the JS allocation. Why not site the new band of singers in the North East corner of the east stand - this would create some good banter with the covered end and generate some noize for the boyz (urgh!). I agree with Sir Len Glover that the situation has got worst due to the lack of anything on the pitch (apart from Big RedDevil who sits on the halfway line ;o)

My only suggestion is that the fans forum or some group, come up with songs and start them off in the pubs (home or away), CAFC social evenings or any other addicks events to help spread the new songs - the covered end and the NE singers would then be able to kick the songs off at the valley.

Pardew wasn't right about many things, but he was spot-on when he said that we should not allow visitors to be behind one goal, and with such good accoustics.
We should wedge visitors in the lower east - just like Wolves and Norwich do, and keep our ends for our own supporters (all 8000 of them !)

[cite]Posted By: TelinOz[/cite]Think they tried that with a microphone in the past....might be wrong. The club havent got any funds for anything like that mate, thanks for the suggestion, but its all going to be down to us Im afraid

how about we all save our empty egg cartons and stick them up on the underside of the roof....

I've got some glue in the basement and my mate said he'll lend us his ladder.

    :-)

how about taking the roof off the Jimmy Seed? make the away fans wet, cold and miserable??

Wont help our atmosphere but at least we wont get outsung!!

[cite]Posted By: Nelsenout[/cite]AS a start Stop the 'Muzak' build up . Switch off the dumb pitch side announcer/ music at 2.45 and let the atmosphere build naturally.

Why thank you, first time I've been called dumb - That's a new one.

Bring back Pete. He was much better than this new guy and a real Charlton fan as well. : - )

No need to get abusive. If you can't take a bit of gratuitous and unfounded abuse then you shouldn't do anything connected with Charlton : - )

Ok, I asked the question of the club regarding the east stand alternative...basically they wont endorse the idea (and wont offer any financial incentive), but in the same breath, they wont discourage it either. Further details to follow. Its up to you lot at the end of the day.

    This was the clubs views..............

If fans wished to move it wouldn't be prevented although the club wouldn't actively encourage it themselves but if it was a fans initiative they wouldn't stop it. When fans have sat in the east stand nearer to the away fans, there has always been a high number of home fans taken out of the stadium due to over excitement, goading by away fans, gesturing, and the police intelligence and CCTV would have to monitor the area much more closely, which could create a higher cost of stewarding and police presence.

The club don't want to have to take home fans out of the stadium, but this would be inevitable.

Mick also said that he didn't think a large majority of the fans would move from the upper north as the facilities and view from that area of the east stand is inferior to that of the upper north.

    So there you have it.....

    Simple Really

Sell JS, and blocks A-C East as on the day only

Use two blocks of the East for away fans for most games that are unlikely to have anything near that amount which I imagine is a large number.

For the odd game when allocation is likely to be larger use the JS for away fans.

Stewarding levels are pretty big in the JS already, I simply don't believe they would be in any different particularly

This would consolidate East Standers, so no huge gaps, and allow the JS to be used, and presumably mean we could charge more for away seats.

Move the Home fans into the East Stand and install some Rose tinted Glass along the front and rename it the 'Henry Irving' Stand.

    Happy days

Given how many no shows there were in West stand and have been for some weeks/months, I would happily give up a large section of it for away fans on a permanent basis. It would also need less stewarding than the alternative East stand option as most of the fans would be asleep or very quiet and so unlikely to give the away section grief...

Few of my mates along with myself sat in the east stand nearest the cardiff fans last night. Was a good laugh and some friendly banter between us and a few cardiff lads. When we scored we celebrated by waving and cheering to our sheep shaggin oppo. Then 2 minutes later, were told to move and got escorted by at least 10 charlton stewards to complete opposite side of the east stand and threatened to get kicked out. Just seems that away fans at charlton are given the freedom of the town wheras when I travel away I am treated like an animal, hearded around, told to sit down every 2 minutes, not allowed in certain parts of a train, pub etc. Anyone else feel the same way?

Did see this last night - thought it was a bit OTT but without being there who knows what went on.
