The drummer in the Funk Brothers, Motown's in house band who performed on just about all the labels hits died aged 75 last week. RIP

For anyone who's not seen Standing in the Shadow of Motown, the film about the Funk Bros, Do.

    aka Earl Van Dyke and the Soul Brothers. Paid a pittance for years by Berry Gordy and only found fame ( and hopefully some fortune) in later life (see Henry's comments). "That Motown Sound" was their defining album, all the instrumental versions of the greats are here Nowhere To Run, My Girl, How Sweet It Is, Too Many Fish In The Sea, plus some of their own hits, Soul Stomp, 6 By 6 and All For You.
    Christ, I wish I could turn back the clock to 1965, Charlton, the music and the birds! Saturdays have never been the same.
