    Why do football managers sign 3 year contracts?

    This doesn't happen in the real world. Why can't they just sign a full-time contract like everyone else?

    Simple-they aren't expected to be full time- longevity wise.

    They get the sack they are paid for three years- unless they sign something to the contrary.

    To be honest- it would be good if someone on here could tell us the average "lifespan" of a Premiership manager!
