Lottery win - how much would you need ...

... To be able to change your life forever?

I'd want to pay off my mortgage, give some away to friends/family, jack my job in instantly, invest a bit and still have enough cash to live on for a couple of years before I had to think about doing something else.

I reckon I'm looking at £400-500k minimum for all that.

Ain't gonna happen, is it?

  • I reckon £700k would do nicely. Give some to my parents so they can pay off all their debts, pay off all my debts, have a little spending spree, a nice holiday or two and then buy a nice house.

If I didn't want to work again though it'd have to be a couple of million or so. But as I'm only 21 I can't see myself not working.
  • 110m will do me nicely next week on the euro lottery.
For a complete life change it would mean I would have to win very big, I wouldnt want my family and close friends to work again.
But really anything over 40k would change my life. Last time I had that amount it was my redunantcy money, that certainly chaged my life.
