  • [cite]Posted By: Chunes[/cite]Big fan of the Marshall Mathers LP. It was really original and as other people have said, genius.

But his last few albums, including the one he's about to release, are terrible in my opinion. He's gone from being in a league of his own in terms of individuality, to rapping on Akon tracks. Lost his edge as soon as the money started rolling in. Maybe he's just not as angry as he used to be.

Happens to the best of em mate.

How could Oasis sing about only needing cigarettes & alcohol and being skint and shit times when they became multi-millionaires after the first two albums? The musical ability shines past the anger in the end

Have to agree but also one of the saddest things to happen in the Rap world.

The songs where he was rapping on other's tracks was mainly down to holding onto the limelight whilst getting through rehab. There are a few songs on the new album that are quality.
  • rap is called as such so you can put a C in front of it.
  • er thanks for your input Ledge
  • He's a genius, an utter creative genius.

I like everything he's done, he's clearly less angry about things and is just ripping the proverbial out of celebrity culture, but he always seems to have a 'mosh' up his sleeve if needed.

One thing i'd love to ask him is whether he has his videos in mind when writing his lyrics or whether he just writes lyrics that he knows will work in video form. Either way it's amazing.
  • A fan of his earlier stuff but not so much his later material. I think 8 Mile is a great, underrated film.

Sadly you're probably correct, how many albums has Tu-pac been able to release despite being dead?! They're not the only artists to benefit from it though. I wonder how much Suge Knight has made since 1996...

  • Who cares whether he can play an instrument, could Elvis or Frank?! Infact could Elvis even write songs?

You might not like he's work but there is no denying he's a creative genius, the oscar he won backs up my statement

Elvis was a fantastic rhythmn guitarist actually. But the record company made him lose it. According to Johnny Cash's autobiography anyway. But yeah, no denying eminem is a genius. Anyone who doesn't like hip-hop can't really comment on that.
  • deja vu from the new album is a brilliant track.

Exactly i will not comment on the Blues or Jazz because i don't listen to them as it is not an enjoyable experience for me.

Top 5 Eminem Tunes then? For me...

    1. Bitch Please II
    2. My Fault
    3. Drug Ballad
    4. Criminal
    5. Rain Man

Deja Vu ain't bad...Insane defo my fav off the album though.
  • Soundbombing (Rawkus Records) is a superbly mixed compilation that kicks off with a great Eminem track and just gets better and better.

One of the greatest albums ever made, highly recommended (the rest of the series don't come close).

Stetsasonic were another one of my faves, as well as Gang Starr.

Most rapping I hear today is gash with very little groove and the 'R & B' is just pony, commercial shite.
  • Ice T and Body Count - doesn't get better
