PFA free transfer list

Couldn't see this had been posted, apologies if it has!

Anyone seen the PFA's list of free transfers?

Here

Some surprisingly decent players on there - Michael Ball, Henri Camara, David Connolly, Lita, Sol Campbell, Jaidi.

Strikes me a CCC club could get a few bargains in there - the experience alongside which they could try and get in a bit of decent youth. Shame none of them would be likely to come to Legaue One, especially on League One wages!

Also two blokes by the names of Holland and Fortune....

Comments

  • Fortune has announced he would like to stay with the club and hopes Charlton can agree terms

From what i remember reading on SSN couple of days ago
  • David Connolly would be a great shout - 32 but more than good enough to spearhead our attack in Div 3.

    Wages a problem?
  • I reckon they would be, can see a Plymouth/Forst type club signing him up a league higher too.

There are loads of players on there that we could realistically investigate/ go for :-

    Sam Sodje CH
Kyel Reid Left mid W Ham
    Jonathan Douglas RB Leeds
    Carl Hoefkens RB WBA
Iriekpen CH Bristol C (scored 1st against us for Scunny in The Championship)
    Mifsud Forward Coventry
    Murty
David Noble Centre mid Bristol C (scores a few from 25 yards)
    Oster CM Palace
Voltz RB Fulham (very unlikely )
Jason Price Forward Donny - was on loan at Millwall and still looked good

Alternatively, we good sign a team of Smiths (10) and Smyth (1), to confuse the oppo and officials LOL.

NB Julian Gray's up there again.

Ok Charlton there's your list, over to you.
  • Is there another list for loanees...?

    Might be more useful...
  • I liked the look of Irikpen when he played for Scunny

Was Captain at Scunny as well. East London boy so might fancy a East London club like Charlton ; - )
  • I see Todorov and Zheng are also on there, and Weaver is on there claiming he's 6'4"

Who is Cian Hughton - he's listed as a Spurs player but is wearing a Charlton kit in his photo.

Interesting that Danny Mills is listing himself as a Centre Back over a Right Back these days
  • Cian Hughton is Chris' son. He was on trial with us last season:

I liked the look of Jason Price when he was at Millwall.
  • That list compares very favourably with a list of the loan players we had to suffer last season.

  • Quite impressed with Iriekpen when he played against us although he was still very raw, and played in a team that worked so hard for each other that I suspect his weaknesses weren't apparent. Anyway a captain in a team who's playing for a promotion chasing side that then comes out and announces via Sky he wants a move is someone I want nowhere near Charlton.
  • I know what you mean though I guess most players we're going to sign will be considered raw in some way or just have a big weakness. We know Llera isn't the quickest just like Hudson and McCarthy weren't.

It's really a case of picking the right players out that will fit together well. As I said in the Moses Ashikodi thread, that shouldn't include players with attitude problems or ones that are incredibly inconsistent. Let other clubs sign players like that, we've done it too much over the last few years. Even happened with players like Djimi Traore, we thought we could be the club to get the best out of him when no one else would touch them. If anyone gets the best out of players like Thomas and Ambrose next season, they'd have done very well. Most of the time it doesn't work out though.

Llera should be the type of reliable player we want, just like Murty and Ward were. Good thing about Parkinson is he seems to want those types of players.
  • Sorry, but please..............

    NO F****** LOAN PLAYERS !!
