With over 9000 season ticket sales well done to you all. It shows how far we have come I still remember the target 10000. The kids for a quid. Hopefully some good news with a takeover then it could push season ticket sales to 10000 and that would be great.

Makes you wonder where the other 16,000 have gone doesn't it?

You mean a total of 26,000? We never had that many, did we? I think we had about 22,000 in Div 1, then 15,000 in Div 2 and now 10,000.

Compared to Norwich it's lousy, but I imagine that we'll be in the Top 5 of season ticket sales in Div 3 (maybe 3rd behind Norwich and Leeds).

When you consider that people now have the option of picking and choosing games (not possible in Div 1) then it's not bad. I think that we'll have an average of 12,500 home fans, more if we're in the top 5.

I think it reasonable when you look back to when we second season after we returned to Valley we got around 7/8K per game in div 2, we are no in Div 3 and sold 9,000 ST's our loyal fan base has increased incredibly.

It was a figure I plucked out of the air, but I think you get my drift

providing further encouraging news for Charlton football club chairman Richard Murray as the Addicks gear up for their League One campaign.

"The season is fast approaching, and this is further evidence that fans are right behind the club,” he said.

imagine how much more 'we' could have been behind the Club if we'd have been given something to be positive about. Frankly I'm amazed that that many have renewed considering the current uncertainty, the managerial situation, the state of the squad, League 1 football etc. Must be blind faith. I hope RM doesn't get too carried away with this '.......the fans are right behind the Club' because I don't think that is necessarily the case. Right behind the Club is correct ('I'm Charlton 'till I die'), but right behind the current board ? The manager ? Not me.

    (That better Henry ?)

I'd hope that we are all behind the Club.

If you are not behind the Club you support then why the **** do you support them?

You may not be behind the manager or the board or even the players but surely we are all behind the Club.

Sorry Henry, but I agree with Large.

I am obviously Charlton through and through. I am absolutely not behind some of the horrendous decisions that have been made and the current shambles. On the other hand if it was swept away in suitably dramatic fashion I'd probably consider the emotional and irrational decision to buy a season ticket even though I live in Prague and never used it more than 7 times in a season even in the Prem.

Speaking of which it is effing Tuesday and STILL nothing...

I, Sam Lloyd, take Charlton Athletic to be my Football Club, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, 'till death do us part, and hereto I pledge you my faithfulness. Amen.

Fair play to Charlton fans, looks like your attendances will be decent again next year.
