Doing one day stop off on way to Cornwall, can anyone recommend a nice place on the coast?

I fancy Lime Regis.

When you get there, spend some time at Marazion.

Get into Dartmoor and have a drive around, then go on to Waterman's Arms, Bow Bridge, Ashprington, (near Totnes) for lunch

Woolacombe in north Devon for fabulous beach, Georgetown for eating places of a decent standard, and for a beautiful walk, Baggy Point - all within a couple of miles of each other.

Stick a pin on a map and you won't go far wrong mate. No real seaside hell holes down that way like your Margates or Hastings.

Lyme Regis is alright, but seriously, anywhere around there will do the job.

Off to Devon next week myself - and can't bloody wait!
  • I'd probably go for Lyme Regis as well but Off_it's not far off the mark, it's all good (except I don't like West Bay - bit of a disappointment). It's still a fair old pop from this part of Dorset to Cornwall though so I'd aim to get a bit further west than here, Studland, Poole, etc if were you.
