I thought the addicks was quite an obscure nickname, but what the hell is the meaning behind the chairboys?!

    Same way as Northampton Town are known as the Cobblers - traditional shoe making industry in Northampton.

    Luton Town - the Hatters. Used to be a big hat making industry in Luton.

    They probably make monkey hangers t-shirts and what not up there and have tours of when the monkey was kept etc. I mean there's fuck all else to do in Hartlepool!

    How could you all forget "The Spanners"

    Wikipedia...... "The Spanners" who got their nickname in the early 20th century after discovering you could try to kill someone using a 17mm combination spanner, Hence as mad as "A Spanner" not to be confused with a spanner..... something used be an engineer ;)
