Ha ha, that was my first thought. Then I thought it's actually nice to hear a name called out that I recognise. I think its more likely a fix all the other times when they make up a name and follow it with the name of a familiar place like Plumstead or Orpington (occasionally adding in a Blackpool or a Glasgow to make you think ooh have we got fans there). So is this the first time that it isn't a fix? ;-)

It isn't a fix and none of the names have ever been made up.

Just like the National Lottery the draw is governed by certain regulations and has to be carried out in accordance of those regulations if not the club could get a hefty fine.

Sorry BDL but I know for a FACT that it is a fix because some bloke in the know told me down the pub yesterday.

Appaently, the new pitchside announcer used to be the bloke on the tannoy in the stands and for the last 18 months or so he has been arranging for the VG draw to be won by the highest bidder. For example, Vince "paid" 10% of winning plus a double whopper and fries.

    You heard it here first.

I wondered why they were all singing "Vince get the beers in" at half time.

I thought he had put a few £ on Dailly for first goalscorer!

I thought I'd read on here that Valley Gold was all flask and blanket people who don't deserve away tickets, but obviously I must have got it wrong . . .

I'm sure I saw Vince with a blanket one. He was wearing it poncho style like Clint Eastwood.

    Dunno about a flask though.

................Meanwhile, the Club have announced a retrospective fine of £10k to the supporter who invaded the pitch back on 5th December 1992 and fell on his knees in front of Killer.

Mr Waggott said "We've thought long and hard about how we were to punsih this wanton act of hooliganism and felt a fine rather than a life ban was appropriate".

Well done Vince. I saw him yesterday in the Oak. It couldn't have gone to a nicer bloke. I had the pleasure of chatting to him on the day of the above game chatting to him on the train. I couldn't believe it was the same bloke that jumped on the pitch that day a few hours later and is on that famous video/dvd.

    Well done mate

  • Great news, Vince ! You can count me as your talisman/woman after saying a smiley "hello" on the way to the ground on Sat.....along with about 500 other acquaintances, I'll bet !

A coach to Hereford would suit me best ( as long as it picks up in Dartford ! ) as I'll be at Edgbaston next Sat.
