[cite]Posted By: scruffle[/cite]I think with southampton a striker is the last position they really need to strenghten, rasiak and that polish guy they have must be two of the best forwards for league one? they need defenders badly thou, a pardew trait if ever I saw one!!
All the pukes on Sky were saying Saganowski is as good as gone...
Also Pardew would NEVER start a season/let the window close with no cover at the back... and if he did it would be someone elses fault.
[cite]Posted By: falconwood_1[/cite]Was funny Shearer saying all the players he recommended to Ashley have gone.
Does our window end on 31st August?
A forward I think would suit us is Ben Hutchinson at Celtic.
Yes 31st August.
I believe I read somewhere that the window this year stays open to include September 1st - something to do with August 31st being a bank holiday or something?
sfc86, you won't get no sense out of us mate. Mention the words 'Mr Pardew' and we're all likely to go mentalist, smashing up the front room Arthur Fowler style..........
sfc86 I doubt if Murty will last longer than the Autumn sunshine. Jaidi should be fine for you, if you get him but doesn't that also make your backline quite problematic to pace? Harding looked quite a good player at B&H, but in the past few seasons he's the only full back we've ripped to shreads..... so I wouldn't be too happy with him yet.
If you've seen Pardew's teams since WHam days you'll understand the man has a slight weakness in tactics. He believes that if you sign strikers they will score. What he doesn't work out is that someone needs to be willing to provide those goals. If he luckily has a striker that does everything he is OK, unfortunately one of those costs you about 80 million or is Ready Steady Teddy. At Wham he was fortunate Brooking signed Etherington, so although they were near woeful in the Champ Teddy, Harewood and Etherington got them through. Looking at Soton last year, a side who struggled to create goals I'd worry who is going to provide for Lambert.
It is amazing he's bought a striker ready to go right from the off. But good signing though he is wait and see how he sets up his midfield, that's always a cracking horror show full of ponces and capitulators.
[cite]Posted By: sfc86[/cite]I said compared to what we had.
We thought that, when Pardew joined after Dowie and Les Reed. Took some of us about a year to realise the horrible truth, while others needed a bit longer. So enjoy your honeymoon while it lasts.
[cite]Posted By: sfc86[/cite]Meh, we'll be back in the premiership before you, don't really care which manager we do it with, if your one turns out to be better we'll just buy him instead.
How to make yourself look stupid in one simple post.
Cheers sfc, thanks for you response. From what I've seen in the last two years sfc although you have very good young players there's no steal there in midfield. Indeed you were even weaker than us, which I have to say there was only one or two teams in our recent champ years at such a poor level. Never really noticed you create that many chances and certainly not able to win ball to get the right platform to worry teams. Don't know enough about Schneiderlin but Holmes and Lallana don't strike me as that sort of player. In fact looking at your mature end of the squad it looks truly awful, Wotton and Thomas?
We have good and bad. Undoubtebly you have good young talent, but they're not presence type players. And your older ones are mainly bloody awful; I like Davis a lot. That's my oppinion from afar, although I don't think you'll have any problem avoiding relegation I can't see Pardew sorting out your physical deficencies.
On a lighter note how is Perry? He's been a great loss to us, but I'd think Pardew would like to drop him for a defender who can't defend who has a nice big rep.

Give Thomas a break, he's been injured for the past year and the game against Millwall was his first back. Wotton is truly awful though.
Perry is a very good player for us imo, very committed and very wise.

I'm glad he is, he was awesome against Lita when Lita was on fire. Wish we still had him, about the best positionally I've ever seen at the Valley makes numpties who play next to him look like top central defenders. Fair enough on Thomas, just I couldn't believe how much you pay such an average defender.... that probably colours my thinking on him.

LMFAO
We all know, Arty should never have taken the Xmas club money, but he paid for it. With his life.
lol he did and plz note southampton fans who are on this site nothing personal my above comment(well sort of) but jus dont get why other fans are on this and then comment for there own clubs?? weird me thinks..... its like sitting in charlton stand and shouting for your own team, you wudnt do it and if you did you would be a knobhead
[cite]Posted By: johnnybev1987[/cite]wat i dont get is all thesed southampton fans on a charlton site? have you not got your own to look at????
)
I hate it when people post comments such as that. I snoop round other clubs sites all the time, and i like it when other fans get involved on here, as long as they're not here for a deliberate wind up.

At the time of Thomas's arrival we needed a defender, so Burley offered him a decent wage to ensure he came here. Of course this later lead to us being fucked but now we can afford him and I reckon most teams in this league would say 'yes' to having Thomas in their back 4 (When fully fit)
[cite]Posted By: sfc86[/cite]Thanks, I'm the same, nice to get an idea how things are going at other clubs and I only really comment on bits involving saints because that's all I know about! Norwich makes for good reading at the minute, bunch of manic depressives!
Oh and back to something more related to the thread, Rasiak and Lambert paired up together in the second half tonight, that'll be one hell of a strikeforce if we can keep hold of Rasiak, albeit a bloody slow one.
Ha ha - See Rasiak wants to go, Pardew reckons he will and Swansea are favourites (no doubt they have the Jason Scotland cash).
[quote][cite]Posted By: Swisdom[/cite]Seems Pardew only wants players we are linked with Lambert / Murty / Jackson
oi Alan, apparently Parky wants to re-sign Izale and Martin Christensen to new contracts......[/quote]
i doubt that, coincidence. In all seriousness your opinion of saints is we are a crappy small club and no one wants to go to us why did 2 of these 3 players come so far instead of you?

Bore off mate. You come on to a CAFC Forum and keep getting precious over everything that could possibly be, in the slightest, anti SFC.........
A little tip...... Dont like it? F**k off and dont post here. Simples

I don't think anyone is disputing that to be honest
Mcleod scored 24 and Varney scored 25 the season before we (Pardew) got our (his) hands on em!!!
Not to mention Gray being top scorer in the league before he sussed him out.
And don't forget Andy Jones got 37 goal for Port Vale before we got him for 350,000 only to find out he was a fat Welsh pisshead.

Instead, you've got the manager who was largely responsible for Charlton Athletic finishing 1 place below Southampton. Congratulations.
