This season's scapegoat

In tha absence of any loan players, looks like it is going to be poor old Kelly.

I know he gets caught out sometimes, but he doesn't hide, and at this level everyone makes mistakes. Can't we just try and get behind him and the rest of the team?

    Well said Weegie.

I wouldn't say scapegoat as such. He just makes basic defensive errors that more often than not get punished.

I thought i was at a pantomine for the 1st. I shouted out 'he's behind you Kelly' three times before the ball had even been played out wide on the other side of the pitch.

More often with Youga in defensive situations, you see what is going to happen before it does. I think he has the potential due to his other attributes to play at a higher level to this, but he still does too many basic defending fundamentals wrong for my liking.

It will be Youga and Parky as already said.

Next in line Burton for the fans that don't watch him properly. There will be regular mentions of Llera's lack of pace (if we sign at least 1 if not 2 centre backs, he might not even be a regular?). Sam might get some blame when we don't score.

We should really get behind all of them though. They're all going to make mistakes, but so are every other team we play.

I have no problem with constructive criticism, as per your post, AFKA - I'll give that out myself (eg daring to suggest that Shelvey was acting up a bit on Saturday, and saying that I'm yet to be convinced by Gray).

I just hate it when some people become completely blinkered about one individual player, and constantly snipe at them. Len knows what I mean after the Kish experience...

I don't think Youga will be the scapregoat. He seems like a fan favourite to me.

I can't see us having one scapegoat but I can see all our forwards getting a lot of blame this season!

And that's just when we are winning

He's not a scapegoat, he just makes vry poor decisions which (if last season is to go bye) generally cost us.

That being said if he could just make better decisions and somehow get that coached into him he could be a good player for us, he's confident and very athetic plus plays with his heart on he's sleeve

    Steve Kavanagh.

Decent FD but what does he do as MD?

I think Youga needs someone to give him a bit of a cuddle and a boot up the back sides.....I actually like him, but he is inconsistent. I think we have found our level now, but Im yet to find why Gray gets picked...never been a goalscorer as such. I prefer Burton if we are playing a centre forward purely for hold up play....god fobid we have one that threatens the goal and ocassionally scores!

It's true he doesn't hide, at least for the two goals he was roughly in the right places. Now it'd be nice if the midfield is in the right place. I don't boo Youga, just quite a few sighs through the match.
  • Youga is championship standard between penalty areas and league 2 standard otherwise.

I will give anyone a chance but lost patience with him about six months ago, costs us too many goals.

Don't care if Basey is slower than a 3 year old, he can defend.

Youga is not a scapegoat, just a very very poor left back....

is it only me who sees the unintended irony in many of these posts?

Can you imagine a back 4 of Basey, Llera, Dailly and Richardson up against SuperKev or similar?

Youga has to play if only for the fact that he has a bit of pace.

Personally though I think he offers more than that and as he gains confidence will improve to the player most admired on his return from scunthorpe.

Burton for me. Slow appears to have as much idea of the offside rule as the lino for the Ipswich/Cov game. I'd like to have seen the post-match between him and Keano (off topic)

people naming which player or staff member they intend to unreasonably blame and scapegoat, and then seriously trying to justify it with actual reasons is quite funny.
