So of all the top Div 1 goalscorers that joined Championship sides 2 years ago - Sharp, Eastwood and Varney. None could have been considered a success at the clubs that spent the best part of 6million on the three of them...
Clearly the step up a division is harder than we thought?
Eastwood had an OK year in champ. Started off well then when Charlie big Pot. Kevin Maher who was his captain at the time said as soon as he scored against Man U his focus went and was a nightmare in training. Place Andy Keogh in there as well, although at least he busts a gut for others and actually scores more than the above three!
Still at the time I could not understand why mentalist Pardew wanted to pay 2.5 mill for varney who'd only ever had one good striking year and Eastwood was 1.5mill with a couple of good seasons behind him + proved he could score in the champ. Though it looks like I was wrong about Eastwood.
