    I'm setting a new rule.

Newsshopper, put all of your articles into one thread called: "News we already know but here are the links to the paper"

    ;-)

Yes, and then everyone who wants to read "rumours, unfounded gossip, hearsay, nonsense and fantasies" can ignore that one and read it on all the rest of the threads.

It was what Parky had to say today. The real reason why the deal hasn't gone through yet is in the article - the difference in valuation for the player from both sides.

And you believed him? He also said Gray had a good game against Hereford.

I read into the OS comments from PP that he knows what we need, is sourcing options at a variety of costs but depending on finances available he'll either sign A or B or neither...

Takeover very clearly nowhere near completion ! Squad nowhere near completion !

I thought they'd offered £600k ?, the player is clearly unhappy 'down south' that's not going to change, he doesn't look half the player he potentially could be for us and I can't see that changing. Just cut our losses and let him go, get his (decent) wage off the bill and to be honest I'd probably rather have Kandol at the moment, won't cost as much in either fee or wages and I actually liked the look of him last season and think he'd do better for us.

Nothing personal against Gray and I hope everything works out for him and his family.

Rumour I think, probably closer to £100-300k because of his wages.

This is only my personal opinion and I'm not speaking as News Shopper here but I think clubs like Barnsley and Gillingham are trying to pull a fast one by putting in low bids for players while the takeover issue remains unsolved.

Charlton should be given a bit of credit for refusing to be had on this - 600k for Gray is too low and the same for the 50k supposedly offered for Dickson. £1m (Gray) and 250k (Dickson) are more realistic prices for me.

Cheers Mortimer. The press conference happens once a week and it is perhaps inevitable we go over old ground on some subjects - it is still the 'latest' on those subjects though.

I actually disagree that £600k is to low (as long as we don't pick up any of his wages), a 30+ injury prone, non scoring centre forward (personal circumstances excluded)....I'd snap their hands off....no one if gonna pay £1m for Gray!!!

Whatever Andys circumstances its unsettling for the team spirit to pick players who are obviosly on their way elsewhere. We shouldnt be playing players just so the market knows that are fit or getting some form.

I agree, I think £600k is pretty decent, but I think they've bid no more than half that.

I don't get why people object to repeated news on a forum. First up, you're not paying for it so you can't feel ripped off. Secondly, how much hassle did it cause you? Does your finger hurt fomr the extra click?

Most importantly, I hadn't read this. So thanks to the post, I now have!
