Robbie Keane's 3 yard header...

..that he put straight at Reina...I missed the interviews after but I presume 'Arry once again said that his missus could've scored it?, seeing as how it was just as easy as Benty's one last season....what do you mean no he didn't?, how come?*

*maybe cause they won eh !

Sorry Eltham but who cares mate?
  • No need to be so rude Soundas. If you don't care don't look!! Simples

Yeah that was a sitter, worse sitter than Benty's last year!! Redknapp is a mug.

dont fcukng open it then mate, was pretty clear by the title what it was about.
  • Agreed. Redknapp is a twitching mug.
  • Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm fairly sure Harry would have ended up regreting what he said about that miss. There was alot said about it after and it definitely shone out in a bad light.
  • Never retracted it though, at least not in public as he should have
  • Evening Chaps. Yeah, was a hell of a miss and so was the one a few mins later when he only had Reyna to beat but other than that, our favourite Irish serial arm flapper was very much at the heart of every attack and his general play was absolutely spot on as was his work rate.

As ElthamAddick pointed out the difference was that we won today and didnt drop two points at home when bottom of the league because of the said missed sitter.

Anyhow, I'm sure I read an interview with HR not so long ago where he admits he didnt handle the situation very well, I'll have a look and link it up if I can find it.
  • I'm going to give the keeper a lot of credit, great save
  • To be fair to Keano, he done the right thing heading it down and attempting to direct it to the corner from where the cross came from... at least he hit the target (unlike Bent did last year!) Was a great save by Reyna but what a cross from Modric. He is becoming one hell of a good player...

nah, he couldn't have got out of the way if he'd tried.

    agree
  • i'd investigate it.
keane has openly admitted it was his childhood dream to play for liverpool. how apt that he should miss chances that harry's mrs would score.
  • Just watching MOTD2, no way Benty would've missed those Keane chances!
  • Soundas dont read it then it's a forum for views and opinions not everyone is going to agree, think before you write......
  • [cite]Posted By: Leroy Ambrose[/cite]Agreed. Redknapp is a twitching mug.

If you've got facial spasms I feel bad for you son
    I got 99 problems but a twitch ain't one
  • As if the Prem League teams and all surrounding it don't get enough publicity and media coverage as it is........I'm sick to death hearing about the big boys and simply rarely if ever watch or listen to anything about them.I'm an Addick through and through...they don't give as rats arze about us and I don't give a rats arze about them...they have their own publicty machine that you can barely escape from.....I'm little interested in The Prem full stop, unless we are in it.
I'd literaly just come from a pub full of armchair fans talking about Spurs/West Ham/Arsenal/Liverpooll etc etc and taking the pizz out of The Addicks when I pointed out to them that they had a local club on their doorstep....pizzes me off and when I come on an Addicks site I don't much care to see others discussing them......that's all folks.
Others on here can 'of course' discuss it...but do any of us 'really' care 'that much' about fecking Spurs and whether their guy misses a sitter or what HR has to say about it..... in truth I don't think so, I may be wrong of course but that's my view.

I'll make you right there. He would have still been sitting on the bench ;-)
  • SoundAs you are right that the prem is a pile of shite and if we never get back there I'll be happy. This is a primarily Charlton site but not exclusively and the link with Spurs was the link with benty who a lot of people here still have a lot of affection for. Now some people as soon as a player leaves the club file them away and no longer have any concerns about them but others will followe their careers till the end, for me I will always look out for bent, for positive reaso0ns and Defoe for negative ones.

If you are not happy, then just ignore the thread, the clue is in the title
  • [cite]Posted By: JohnBoyUK[/cite]He is becoming one hell of a good player...
That made me laugh. He was rated as one of the best young players in Europe - if not the best - before Spurs "discovered him".

I meant it in terms of being a premiership player, certainly not claiming Spurs discovered him. I think my first memory was of him destroying England singlehandedly a few years back. He looked class last year in patches but he's got used to the pace of the English game now. We'll enjoy him as much as we can this season as he'll be off at the end of the season. There's no way we can hang on to a player of his ability.

I never reaslised what a arm flapping fool Keane is, he spent the whole time looking like kevin the teenager whose been given a detention for something his mate did. "it's so unfair, i wanted to score but this big spanish fell won't let me... I hate you"

I agree couple of cracking saves from Reina, but the header was a sitter!

Johnboy - what happened to that Dos Santos Barcelona kid you were saying was the biggest coop in Spurs history?!

On an extended break after the CONACAF Gold Cup where he was voted MVP (so very american!)

    More info here: <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_CONCACAF_Gold_Cup">CONACAF</a&gt;

Yes, in all honesty, he didn't exactly set the world alight in Ipswich either. Similar to Modric in build and struggled to adapt the pace of the English game. Will be interesting to see what happens to him this season. A lot of Spurs fans hope he can still break into the team but in all honesty, he came close to a permanent move to Pompey in the January transfer window only for it to breakdown because of his lack of first team fitness so would this his time at Spurs is numbered.

Wont be the first player we sign who doesnt make it big in the first team and nor will it be the last.

I get the feeling I will be reminded of this every now and again lol. I did comment on this six months or so ago...http://www.charltonlife.com/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=24627&page=1#Item_3
