Maybe we should stop singing the line 'Following Charlton my favourite team'' as well as this may offend the opposing team?

[cite]Posted By: JT[/cite]No other song except Red Army should be being sung.

    It's a disgrace.
Red Army offences fans from Germany and the soviet block, I recommed we only sing...

Ooooooooooooooooh Lloyd Sam is on fire!!

But that may offend people with burns.

and ' a palace fan hanging on a string' may offend puppets.

This seems to have turned into a thread about offensive songs. My personal gripe with the Addams Family song is that it is embarrassing due to its moronic and puerile nature. Offensive? That's for others to judge. I'd just prefer it if we showed a little more class.

    Ketman....

Definition of adversarial: a person, group, or force that opposes or attacks; opponent; enemy; foe.

Does this mean that SCotland Yard have set up an incident room for every Charlton away game.....once again a perfect example of gross exageration,

If our fans away are deemed to be "adversarial" would be interesting to see what the other clubs are in the league, this post is nearly as boring as the takeover thread

I strongly feel that we should as a freindly, family club offer an apology to those poor Norwich fans & by way of contrition we should sing the following to their away fans when we next meet up..

Your sister is most definitely not your mother,
Your father of course, is in no way your brother.
You always behave marvellously to one another,
    The Norwich family

    clap, clap
    etc etc

It might not scan too well, but I'm sure the Canaries will appreciate the gesture

[cite]Posted By: WSS[/cite]God knows. But you did not specify a number to make the act of violent conduct good to see.

The Norwich Evening News reports - "Police were forced to intervene after some football fans became aggressive following the game. A number of public order notices were handed out and one person was removed from the grounds after his behaviour became “unacceptable”."

Nobody arrested and the worse case is some people became "aggressive" and behaved "unacceptably" - sounds like Christmas day 'round at my Nan's !

Can't help but think that peoples chants could be better used by getting behind the team, it's just a generally unfunny song but each to their own. I thought the atmos was good, so fair play to everyone for that more than the one song that is being focused apon.

Had a brilliant day Saturday despite the late equaliser. If I had kids would I take them to an away game though? No. Getting called a 'bunch of C***s' by one of your own fans for asking if they would mind sitting down when everyone else at least ten rows behind were is beyond me. Especially when he spent 90% of the game goading the Norwich fans and not watching the game at all. Hey ho.

To answer you question, no nothing like that. They have a report on all away followings in London, ours has always been excellent for many years but has deteriorated a lot recently. However, ours comparable to Spurs, West Ham, Millwall, Chelsea etc would still look positively angelic.

i have been told that the wheels on the bus song is offensive i dont agree i think it is funny however i understand some dont, i think the addams family song when sang to anyone nth of watford is funny because that is my humour

when scousers look in the dustbin for something to eat is that funny or not allowed

when they find a dead cat and they think its a treat is that funny or not allowed

dirty nthn bstd funny or racist and not allowed

IT is football FFS people sing songs that is what they do every time this debate comes up there are those that preach it aint right we should stop we should take the lead we are a family club,

i know it aint right but it is not the worst song in the world, it was not a fooking riot on saturday so chill out it was a little bit of bravado you guys are flipping self righteous and crazy

On the way out, anyone else see the poor bloke in the Charlton shirt running after one of the Norwich coaches with about 5 kids in the back giving him the good old backward wave. Looked a bit red faced but he was determined I give him that, luckily the coach didn't stop. :-D

All I remember about the journey home is some weird conversation about proper custard
  • what do football fans expect, i mean a last minute equaliser the norwich fans are gonna celebrate by going nuts ffs, their team have been doing crap and the celebrations to me are a compliment (i remember in the good old days of top flight football after spurs had beaten us at the valley they were delighted liked they had won the cup final, it's a compliment no matter how farked off we all were/are)
we've all done it ourselves when we've got last minute winners/equalisers bouncing around goading gesticulating your delight towards the oppo fans with chorus's of your not singing anymore...
  • "South London, W*nk, W*ank, W*nk"

That is shocking. Don't they know we are an East London Club?

No problem with the song, whether it's funny or not, nor with a touch of general lariness or bravado -- been there, done that ... from a safe distance -- but someone on another thread mentioned racist abuse of one of our own players by some moron. That is not ok (nor would it be ok directed at the opposition) and those in the vicinity of said moron should not let it go unchallenged.

Yes but not since the good old days of Alan Curbishley and the only reason we could bounce about so much was the huge amount of room we had due to the poor away support.
