Do people do that anymore ? was thinking of wandering to to Oxleas/Shootershill to see if i could see the Booke called Kid, but is it kosher these days for a "mature" gent like myself to wander through the woods not taking a dog for a walk or anything ? and is this question a sad statement on todays society ????

taking the dog for a walk....very good old expression that
  • When in Chicago I liked nothing more than to walk in the park on my own but unfortunately society has made it weird for grown men to do it unless they are pushing a pram, holding hands with the wife (preferably their own), jogging or walking a dog. Go for it GH, but take an ipod and leave your camera at home :-)
  • no problem and a nice tea room cafe as well .......... woulndt do it up Dartford Heath too many mature men walking on thier own.......when up there with dogs you almost have to keep pointing at them in a * im with my dogs *

If you want to go for a walk in the park on your own, do it. Don't let prejudices - yours, or other people's - stop you.

As long as it isn't another 4 letter word that begins with w and ends in k you should be fine

Disguise yourself by dressing like a Palace fan.

Tramps are a common sight in woods.

Yeah, you're right. Who'd want to do that in a park with loads of other people around?

I mean there's a time and place for everything, but you shouldn't work in a park.

Kelsey Park in Beckenham is a smashing place to have a strol around the lake.
But the daddy of them all has to be Knole Park(Sevenoaks)......quite beautiful....and at any time of the year too.
Bedgbury Pinetum (Forestry Commision) near Goudhurst/Hawkhurst just off the A21 is a beautiful place too.Not far from Bewl Water......though it's not a park of course.
