  • Don't forget that management do see more of Izale that just on the pitch on Saturday and we are not the only ones who have decided not to play him. You've got to be poor to be brought in on loan and then dropped.

Ever heard of a player with shattered confidence,I think he would be a good example and he is young enough to come good again and I hope it is for us.

I don't believe you will have to worry about Izale for too much longer.

    why is that insider information??
  • BRENTFORD boss Andy Scott has decided not to offer a deal to former Charlton frontman Izale McLeod.
The 25-year-old had been on trial at Griffin Park, and played in the pre-season friendlies against Woking and Crystal Palace.
However, Scott has decided McLeod's not what he's looking for as he looks to finalise his squad ahead of the big kick-off at Carlisle on Saturday.

    Oh well c'est la vie
  • Guess Scott must have been looking for a striker with ability then, poor old Izale - he should have known that if a manager actually saw him on trial first they would not take him on...

How does someone go from being worth £1.1 to £1.5 million to the mess he's in now?

He can't get a game for toffee. It's nuts!

Bad man-management or just a waste of space?

Maybe he should go back to his spiritual home: the MK lego stadium (lego player for a lego town, stadium and team).

Truth is he didn't! Pardew just thought he was worth that. I hold my hand up and say I thought he'd be worth a punt (though not at that price).

He'll be lucky to get a top half league one side. Can see him back in league two.

It's all a confidence game. McLeod simply lost his way.
  • I don't think he has anyone to blame but himself. His last three (including loan) managers all only have bad things to say about him. In such a small industry these things matter.
  • He clearly has some ability but at the moment that is being outweighed by his poor attitude and lack of confidence on the pitch.

He's still got time on his side so will get a contract somewhere (maybe he'll have to drop down to League Two though surprised he hasn't been linked with Orient) and could still have a decent career

Link to that story on another site:
    http://www.givemefootball.com/league-one/moore-tracking-mcleod?

"I've spoken to Izale and his agent," Moore told the club's official website.

"Basically I wanted to have a look at him first but at the moment his agent is not too keen on that, so we will have to monitor the situation and see how it goes."

His agent obviously realises that if someone wants to see him play before signing him then they probably won't want to sign him!

I don't think Izzy can be too picky about choosing a club right now.

His agent is not keen on that, what does he expect, the old have a look on You Tube trick only works with Pardew.

Rotherham would not be the worst move for him, they are a decent L2 side and he would surely get plenty of chances to score. A good goal return and maybe a promotion would get his career back on track and maybe lead to a bigger move maybe in the Championship again.

I wonder why his agent doesn't fancy them having a look first - could it be because he did so well in his trial at Brentford? Football agents = unnecessary leeches who threaten the future of our game.
  • How well do you think Izale would do if he were trying to negotiate a new club for himself?

Agents - a necessary evil for a industry full of men who didn't finish school.

Not sure about that Harvey. Of course they need help - crossing the road in some cases - but I don't see why there shouldn't be a series of standard PFA endorsed contracts for the various levels they play at. I believe agents (and the sickening terms they demand) are the single biggest factor in the immediate loss from football of the incredible amounts of money Sky put in. Of course the clubs are foolish in the way they allow it to happen, but I genuinely don't see why the game couldn't operate perfectly well without them.
  • Its not just the contract though - and there are standard ones anyway http://www.cafc.co.uk/newsview.ink?nid=36366&newstype=n

Its finding the clubs, generating interest, finding a house, moving, changing details. When you wwant a new job you look through the papers, sign up to recruitment agencies etc. They are simply signing up to a similar agency who does a lot more than look throuh your CV.

I agree they take a lot of money but they are essential in some form.

Only essential if the player can't do it for himself or can't be bothered.

But then, the same applies to many people selling a house.
They could do it themselves ....... or use an estate agent to (supposedly) find them a buyer.

    Loosley speaking, same principle.
