Urgent help please re posting a credit card overseas

Big prob. any ideas gratefully received. Crazy son off on 3 month solo pedal cycle trip through all Central American countries. He missed his flight but finally arrived somwhat knackered in Cancum a few hours ago. Instant robbery, credit card and all cash gone. Managed to transfer instant cash funds to him via Western Union so he's OK for a few days. Any ideas how we can post his replacement credit card out to him safely? He will probably be in Belize by the time the repacement card arrives. Any alternative ideas also gratefully received.

    It might be worth getting him a prepaid mastercard. That way you can post it out to him with the bare minimum of credit on it, and then you or he can top it up once he's received it. You'll need to compare what's the most appropriate for his needs depending on where he's going, and how quickly they can send one out, but you can get the fairfx dollar one for as little as 20 quid.
