I've just been given the very sad and shocking news that Geoff Rix died of a heart attack at work yesterday aged 63.

Geoff had supported Charlton for many many years, both home and away and more recently, I believe that he had only missed 3 home games back at The Valley since our return.

Some of you may also know his daughter Clare who has also supported Charlton for many years and was a regular at The Oak until the birth of her son Liam last year.

It was Clare that asked that I post this message.

I also understand that Geoff was a regular on CAFC babes.

My condolences to Clare and her family for their loss.

Having known Clare and some of her family for a number of years now, I had only got to know Geoff a bit more recently. I am so shocked and very sad that my future trips to matches will not allow me to get to know him better as I enjoyed his company very much.

My thoughts are with Clare and her family.

I didn't know Geoff by name only by way of his moniker, E_Stander, on CAFC Babes and the 'old' BBC 606 site.
We disagreed on virtually everything not least his views on Curbs, but he was always honest and passionate and never vulgar or offensive.
Very sad news indeed.
RIP and my sincere condolences to his family.
