The championship.... is upside down...... the championship is upside down... were going up with the essex and the *insert county notts\somerser*... are going down...
We will be back next year, nel has been quite good last few games if we can keep him.

Cook out off what might have been the last ball of the match against Hants proved rather crucial in the end. Not his fault though because the blame rests squarely on the shoulders of Robert Key not only as skipper but who managed to amass the sum total of 674 runs from 27 Inns of which 261 came in one of them!

Add Denly and to a lesser extent Northeast to that list. 600 odd runs at 21 odd is woeful for a supposed England hopeful (Denly) and Northeast, number 3 formost of the season, scored a similar number of runs at an average of under 25.
In fact only one batsman (MVJ) got his 1,000 runs. Most counties had 3 or more.

Just about to post similar! Pipped at the post (pun intended).
Not to mention two openers who haven't made it into three figures all season (Also pipped at the post!)

Meanwhile things are heating up in the Somerset/Durham and Notts/Lancs match.
As I understand it - Notts need a few more runs to secure an extra bonus batting point, and need to get a couple of bowling bonus points. If they do they end up with the same points total as Somerset, but will win the title having won more games.
Somerset will win the CC if they beat Durham though and they need a mere 181 to win off 17 overs, currently they are 37/3.
Notts secured maximum batting points with 400, then declared. They have 16 overs to get 3 Lancashire wickets to get one bowling bonus point and finish level with Zummerzet on points but would be declared champions because they've won more matches.

Just got a wicket, 2 to get, 10 overs to go.
Got to give credit to Key for his honesty.
