  • wheres pills thrills and bellyaches from happy mondays? mike oldfield are they for real?
  • Mike Oldfield and Tubular Bells is spot on....but Division Bell for Pink Floyd? Had to have been Dark side surely
  • coldplay, eugh, are they having a laugh
  • What, no Sgt Pepper? Revolver?
In the Court of the Crimson King - King Crimson
    Aladdin Sane better than Ziggy?
Weasels Ripped My Flesh - Frank Zappa

Actually there are just too many to choose from!!!!!!!!!!!
  • The first Stone Roses album?
    No Beatles then?
  • Sergeant Peppers is probably the most recognisable album cover ever, should have been selected...
  • mike oldfield over these.not even real music.
  • album covers not the contents.
  • still shite then.
  • all uk acts which is right and proper for the Royal mail.

Beatles most likely not licensed. Apple hot on image rights etc

Dark side I agree as a cover.

Who's Next maybe and i guess the first pistols album was ruled out as well.

or the inside cover of 'bummed' by happy mondays
  • My personal favourite cover from Pink Floyd has to be Wish You Were Here?
  • Nowhere by Ride has got to be the best album cover of the last 20 years

What the first Stone Roses album? A really bad Jackson Pollack attack. Squires did some quite nice Pollock lite but not that one.

Don't really like Coldplay's there was a hella of a lot of nastycomputer/cad heads, thought they were all awful. Reminds me of terrible computer images like a Creed album. The guy who moulded a head out of blood and Gunther Von Hagens I fo=ind much more fascintating and less ersatz/hollow in effect.

Still think Nirvanna's Nevermind is amazing.
  • Surely 'Meat is Murder' should be there?

  • Of course Zappa and Hendrix aren't there, they're not British.
    Coldplay? WTF!
As others have said the Floyd, one should have been Dark Side, though personally I agree with Wickford.
I'd have thought Unknown Pleasures is about as iconic as any album cover.
  • Agree with people on Floyd but then Animals could have been picked as well.
  • The Soft Machine (1) is the best album ever cover. Not so good on cd as you can't twist the card around. Led Zep copied the concept.
  • What No Electric ladyland........
I was looking forward to 'licking the backside' of those naked woman......
  • They should have included The Beatles' White Album......
  • What no JLS, Susan Boyle or Michael Buble???

    Disgraceful.
  • good list but I reckon they should've had Joy Division 'Unknown Pleasures', Smiths 'Meat is Murder', Stone Roses and 'Dark Side'.
They wouldn't be able to use The Beatles as Henry says.
