Spam email help!

I am getting loads of spam email at home at the moment, usually to do with viagra, pharmacy, portfolios etc.
They come as some sort of image so you cannot block them based on containing the word viagra etc.
I block the senders of course but that makes little or no difference.

Any suggestions on how to stop these appreciated .... tHanks!

    You might need to get a server to put on something like MailSweeper mate.

    Is your email address out on the web? If so and you've got an account with some like Hotmail you're kinda buggered, cos they hold your account. If you have your own home email address with an ISP then you should have more luck

    Unfortunately once these people have your email then that's it cos they share it with so many similar companies

    That'll teach you to give your E Mail address to Latimer - or any other dodgy back street 'pharmacist' copme to that.

    Try using blackspider mate, we use it in IT department here and its pretty sound.

    Not sure if it can be used from home, but it does exactly what your after.

    Cheers Tom - I had a look at Blackspider but it is only if you have your own domain, I guess I will just have to wait for ZoneAlarm to get their arse into gear.

    By looking at the source of the email I always see cid:
    eg. "src=3D"cid:"
    which I think is to do with the image, tried setting up Outlook rule to delete messages if they contain this text - didn't work

    I have now installed some freeware called "SpamAware" - I'll see how I get on with that.

    Has there been any updates on how to deal with spam emails?

    As soon as I delete, they almost immediately come rolling back in as if on some loop or knowledge that I've deleted.

    I never respond just bin but it's really pissing me off, that this can just continue and I seemingly can't do anything to stop them!

    I went over to Proton Mail a year ago and get no spam emails, I have since closed my Hotmail & GMail Accounts.

    I do but all the spammers do is change the email format/wording and by doing so evade spam detectors and end up in my inbox!

    I was getting loads of spam many using McAfee or some spurious account being closed. i used to block them but they still kept coming through.  I then looked at why they were not picked up as listed junk and saw they were changing the text in the domain name so it wasn't identified as a blocked domain. But often part of the gibberish in the domain name or subject title had some common text. I set up rules in BT Mail and Outlook that told them to delete emails which contained certain text in the domain name or subject title. Every time one slipped through I identified the new domain or text which had been made and added a rule to cover it. I also noticed that the spammers often use the first part of your email address as your title, so blocked emails that were addressed me in that form. These actions have virtually eliminated my spam.

    It may have been you @eaststandmike that mentioned Proton before? It says they’re based in Switzerland and presumably one sets up a new email account and server?

    Do you just have the email account and do you pay a fee?
