Right, got my pay slip today, firstly I was sposed to be on £5.85 an hour, but its actually £5.80.

This appears on my pay slip

reference pay £152.98
hours adjusted 10.00 £5.80 £58.00-
unpaid absence 14.00 £5.80 £81.20-
tax paid £2.50

total payments £13.78
total deductions £2.60
net payment £11.18

However, I have done 14 hours at £5.85 an hour, which should be £81 odd, so I'm trying to work out what the f*ck has gone wrong?

Do you have to clock in and out? If you do, are you doing it correctly?

Thinking about it, is their week Sunday - Saturday?
Didn't you only work 2-3 hours on Saturday?
If you're paid in arrears that sounds about right.

Are you writing your times down in 12hr or 24hr format? That could affect it

When I used to work in the CO-OP years ago, the pay was based on a Sun-Sat week. Then if you are paid a week in arrears, this is likely to be correct I'm afraid.

Oh, I thought you only started on the 19th....didn't you say that in the contract thread?

It seems like they are treating the time you worked as 'unpaid absence'. If everybody else has the same problem I would say the person entering the timesheets into the payroll system has used the wrong code for hours actually worked.

I think because you took Saturday off they are charging you for it. You just can't do that Nathan - you're costing the company money.
  • are you one of those stewards who didn't turn up on saturday??

Aint there a few Lifers in recruitment? Surely they could sort you out with a career change, maybe if you get yourself a CV drawn up and send it to them.
