OK, he played with a synth which was a bit grating but it was free so am not complaining.

Those of you who didnt make a gig have genuinely missed out.

    from the phantom yesterday:

If all the aggro's not your cup of Black Coffee, try going instead to Borough Town Hall at 2.30pm to see a new PRS Heritage Music Award plaque unveiled. It's for local lads Squeeze, who played their first gig there when it was the Greenwich Dance Hall in 1975 (and which didn't have a load of flats immediately above the dancefloor). Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford will be there, to see themselves following Blur, Dire Straits and Jethro Tull in being immortalised in ceramic.

Of the many nights I've been down The Anchor, the sound was easily the best. The band are extremely tight, every song sounds as if your listening to the recorded version on your ipod!

Keep your eyes peeled for a warm up gig for the main tour, possibly a few nights at The Anchor or one at The Albany Empire.

You're totally guaranteed a great night out.

BTW, the staff at The Anchor are probably the friendliest I've met and the pub deserves your support imho.

They're on Five Live at the moment - haven't heard any mention of Charlton so far...
  • Bit young for the Squeeze but been listening to them recently and really getting in to them. "Up The Junction is fast becoming a favourite song...

Anyone know if Glenn will be playing more gigs at the Anchor?
  • Glenn's playing an 'experimental' night at Anchor and Hope tonight.

Pop in after the game. . . .

Listening live on Radio London as they are down in Greenwich today and focussing on Squeee and Tillbrook will be on shortly.  No doubt he might get a Charlton mention in.
