    years in englands premier league;

    charlton; 8
    millwall; 0

The relevance of the above statistic = <0

Those years led to where you are now. You were always punching above your weight when up there and everyone was saying that as soon as Curbishley left it would all come crashing down. They were right.

That's not to take away what you guys achieved in those 8 years, though, but it means and counts for nothing now.

The fact you've been forced to scrape that barrel to try and get one over on me says all it needs to

It's a great time to be Lion at the moment and I've been somewhat disappointed not to have seen the relegation watch thread given more of an airing  </p>

    I've always liked Helen Mirren.

Weren't really punching above our weight in the Premier League as apart from 98/99 we were never at risk of Relegation - Yes Curbishley was always going to be a tough act to follow yet had we hired someone properly and not the two linked with us (Dowie or Taylor) I reckon we'd have been fine

Hell I hate to say it but had we hired Pardew a few weeks earlier then we'd have survived that season!! - Its like two years ago when we were relegated from the Championship; Having the inexperience of Karel Fraeye and Les Reed has cost us respectively

Not being at risk of relegation isn't a sign that you're not punching above your weight. It highlights just how much of a punch it was.
  • Remember this game, felt like we got away with it even when they had 10 men.

This, we were never going go beat them that day
  • WAs working so missed it. Gutted.

Some of the replies on the twitter are laughable “ you haven’t beaten us for 21 years”

That’s because we haven’t played you every season you stupid cnut

Did you know we’re unbeaten against Man City for 9 years?

Yeah but it’s not like we’ve hardly ever played each other either. You’ve had ten attempts in that time.

What would sound even worse is if theyd said “you’ve only beaten us 4 times since 1978. 40 years and 34 attempts”.

Appalling record against little ol’ Smallwall

  • On this day 8 years ago, forgotten how comical the defending was...

Almost as comical as the hilariously biased Millwall commentary!
  • Cracking third goal though. Not just Bailey's stunning strike but the build-up too.

To be fair, if the head to heads were reversed we’d probably dislike you as much as you dislike us. It really is a poor record for you lot and must be one of the most one sided derbys going.

Tbf, if we’d win every encounter we’d still dislike you.
After all, not many people do like you. I’ve heard, there’s even a song about it.

Mate, we even dislike ourselves. We regularly beat each other up
