Went to see Jaws 50th year anniversary at odeon imax in Norwich. Saw original in 75 with my mum and dad at Sidcup. Brilliant film, one of my all time favorites.
Mine too...going on Thursday to see it in imax. A film I always watch to the end if I hop past it whilst channem changing, even if only 15mins left...love it!
Highly recommend ROW debut feature of director Matt Losasso, winner of best feature film @ Raindance Film Festival, 2025, ROW opens this Friday Sept 5th. There is a special screening on Monday Sept 8th at Ritzy Picturehouse, Brixton with Q+A with director, actor, dop well worth going or seeing it in a Showcase cinema.
Watched ‘Thursday Murder Club’. I didn’t mind the book, but the film was shit. Poorly cast and they changed the ending to fit running time. 3/10
The book is far better. For me the main character is Joyce and her diary entries. Shame that’s missed out in the film but probably difficult to include.

I think if you wanna go down that route you make it a 3 parter. Bogdan and Ron were terribly cast, Ron screamed to me Ray Winston or similar.
Just saw this trailer as well. Bigelow is my favourite female director. Really looking forward to it although I'm not a big fan of disaster movies - I don't know what this one is about but it looks like a disaster movie.

I know cameraman who shot House of Dynamite its just had its World Premiere at Venice film festival and due in cinema on Oct 3rd. Its getting 5***** reviews & being talked up as a potential Oscar contender. Don't read what its about but its going to be this Autumns must see film. Bigelow is a super talented director.
Tried to watch the Ice Cube War of the Worlds to see what the fuss was about. Understood it after a few minutes and didn't feel any need to watch more of that.
Tried to watch F1 but it felt like one long advert mixed with a bit of Eastenders, combined with the F1 video game, which is also a long-winded advert for a sport dominated by adverts. Even as a casual fan of the sport, I was rolling my eyes at some of the exposition. I didn't get very far. Might try again sometime but there's so much else to watch I can't see it happening unless I am extremely bored and/ or stoned.
I did watch all of the recent French remake of The Count of Monte Cristo and fucking loved it.

TOOTING RED ARMY - Hi CAFC CAT - its really awesome film , I went to a special screening on Monday @ Ritzy Brixton it was packed despite the tube strike and is playing this week at Showcase Bluewater well worth a trip to see it & at other Showcase cinemas on their website. A classy British film which deserves a wider audience .....
A woman washes up on the Orkney island of Hoy, the only survivor of a transatlantic sortie in Matthew Losasso’s debut feature, a twisty if murky chiller (Link below to review)

Agreed - Not sure how they are going to do any of the other books as Bogdan is a pretty major character in the other stories.

Won't be a classic, but enjoyable, 7/10 job.
