No real time to do a proper preview so let's just get all of our pre-match thoughts and doom-mongering in here please. ;-)

Starting a run of three away games now and as a result of the 4 out of 9 points we picked up at home - the players are under pressure to win away from The Valley.

Will it be easier playing away from The Valley crowd? Will we switch to 4-5-1? Will Jonjo still be here tomorrow morning? Racon back in?

I don't know.

I'm questioning my sanity going up there tomorrow night as well but hey ho.

I'll be one of the what, 300?
  • we'll win 3-0 easy peasy ..... away from the evil atmosphere of the valley (and only a handful of fans to be blamed if we play shit) the players can relax and let their incredible talent flow onto the football pitch ....
although with 4 defeats and 2 draws in their last 6 games walsall are a good side and a point wont be bad away from home at a crack unit like walsall , we have to be realistic now and realise there are no easy games in this division and have to be truly grateful that we are playing at such a high standard
walsall have already drawn with swindon and norwich this season so they are no pushovers and sit comfortably in mid table

I think we'll probably try to do it one go mate - Plaaayer is driving again so it will be up to him (or unless AFKA moans that he needs a wee).

I honestly think we could bounce back with this game, nothing special but a comfortable 2-0 win. I hope Parky goes back to 4-5-1 to get some extra creativity in midfield.

Just need the support to always be around for Burton then.
  • Agree with the above - away from home we might be able to show some of the quality that undoubtedly exists in this team.

I would be playing 4-5-1 if I was the manager

A hard fought game, late winner to make it 2-1.

Just up the road for me this one but have to work :( so making sure I do Brizzle Rovers instead
  • with walsall getting an amazing 2 points from a possible 18 in their recent form scoring 6 times as well, this is another game that should not be taken lightly.their emphasis on getting the ball down and playing natural free flowing football may make this a very tough fixture for us.

a draw will be a fantastic achievement.

Pressure off not having to play at home, disappointing last few games, revert back to 4-5-1 would be my option.

    We should really win.

Completely forgot we had a game tomorrow.

Good chance to get back on track with a solid 2-0 win.

    Boo.

2-0 if the nerves of the last few games can be calmed. Will be a test of PPs managerial skills because a draw or defeat against this lot must raise serious questions.

Isnt it funny that the blindly optimistic antymoaners out there (the same ones who saw the positives in Dower and Pardidnt despite all the evidence to the contrary) always trot out the tired and lame excuse that you cant predict recults from the table.
Whilst on a pedantic level this is obviously true, realistically the team in third should beat the team in 13th after 25 games Just like they should have beaten the team in 22nd!

Also has anyone else noticed that the same optimists who quote the above then go on and say that our position of 3rd shows that all is well with the club!

    strange
  • Will concede and not sure we can score at the moment. Lose 1 - 0

In the last few weeks, Leeds have dropped points:

    Wycombe 1-1
    Exeter 0-2
    Swindon 0-3

You'll notice they were all against teams lower than Leeds in the table.

    ;o)
  • Yes, Oggy, our own record has rather highlighted tha!!
I should clarify that I was talking about expectations, and the results when those expectations arent met.
Leeds would have expected to win those games, and their crowd will react negatively as each perceived disaster emerges.
  • and leeds are above us in the form guide along with beating man utd and drawing at spurs

We might scrape a draw if we are lucky.
  • 0 - 3 to us.
Burton, Reid and Akpo in the last minute.
  • 3-1 win, akpo hat-trick

yes they are on terrible form- but teams raise their game against us. heart says 2-1 charlton, head says 1-1. give 4-4-2 another go i say. just make sure that when sam and ried beat their man, they actually cross the ball properly (not really directed at reid)

1-1 draw for me. Make it 301 now as I've decided to go. Golfie is picking me up straight from my latest Court case and we'll hot foot it up there.

1-0 Win, hopefully Racon comes in for Mooney and we revert back to 4-5-1 to move away from the long ball we seem to have resorted to in recent games. We played a lot more football on the floor at the beginning of the season and I think taking a striker out of the equation will hopefully quell the temptation to hoof it up. Nothing against Mooney who I think is a decent enough player but of the two Burton has to play.

That actually worries me more than their form being good! We tend to be very generous to teams who are in a blip

Having said that, I expect a reaction and I think there will be one.

    3-1 Charlton

    1-2 scrappy and hard fought
mooney header from a Reid cross and shelvey or waggy to seal it
late consolation for the saddlers to give us a squeaky last 10 mins
  • Sorry to buck the trend chaps, Walsall to win 2-0, to be honest I cannot see us getting much from any of the next three away games.

I hope I am eating a large slice of humble pie in the morning ;-)

Have to say that, right now, I think 3 away games is just what the players need to try to shake off their poor form.

There is an awful atmosphere brewing up at The Valley at the moment and it's not helping matters

Be interesting to see the line up. Seems we can't keep a clean sheet these days so question is where are the two goals at least going to come from?

Hopefully, as has been said, the pressure of being away from the Valley (what a sad state of affairs) will help.

A win but not very pretty.

A few changes in the side, Leon, Akpo and Kyel making a difference.

Biggest shock will be Dailly on the bench with Llera and Sodje S. at the back.
