  • I can not express how happy i am

When Powelly says he knows what we have been through and he knows what hard work is required and that he is prepared to do it.

    you know he means it

I do not think i would believe anyone else who said that, i would believe it was lip service and rubbish.

Chris Loved it here really loved it he connected with the values he connected with the fans more so than anyone in recent history.

Thank you Chris goodluck mate i have got your back you have my support and that of every single person who supports Charlton

Welcome home we have missed you

He also has a win ratio of 100% as a manager. I bet none of the other candidates could boast such a record.

[cite]Posted By: gilbertfilbert[/cite]We've got a truly exceptional man here, who has the complete toolkit to do an exceptional job -- playing and coaching experience under some of the best managers around; experience in public affairs at the head of the PFA; people skills of the highest possible order; an impeccable moral compass; a high level of intelligence. And don't give me any "He's too nice" guff: you don't come out of working class Tooting and spend decades in professional football, reaching the very top despite, arguably, limited natural ability, without having some lead in your pencil.

Good summary and covers exactly the way I see it as well

[cite]Posted By: DickTydeman[/cite]Well let's hope he is a better manager then player - one leg (Jake), no football brain & slow - you lot are deluded. We needed a strong and experienced manager. The owners will be signing Derek Hales & Mike Flanagan next.

    Are you a WUM?

"I know that I am ready for my first step in to management and I am absolutely delighted to be joining Charlton. There has been speculation about my future for a while, yet I have been happy at Leicester City, so I stayed. But the lure of managing one of my old clubs, Charlton, which is pretty much my 'spiritual home', was too great for me to turn down."

  • Haven't felt this optimistic about Charlton for a very long time.

Wasn't going to go to the Plymouth game but have just sorted out my ticket for the Chris Powell homecoming party!
