As some of you may know I have the misfortune to live in Coventry so have lots of Skyblue mates, the club and council have been battling for funds to get a station at the Stadium with not much luck so someone has raised this petition.
http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/RICOHstation/
For those that have travelled to the Coventry by train the trip from station to ground is a big taxi ride, unlike Charlton Cov arent fortunate enough to have a station by the ground, with the increasing number of high profile concerts at the Ricoh too the stadium and Arena park is crying out for a decent rail link.
In the interests of football fans home and away Id ask if you could sign this petition
Thanks
Thommo

Perhaps they shouldn't have moved from Highfield Road then.
I see they had enough money to build the casino at the Ricoh - I thought the train station was part of the PP?
It's also hardly struck a chord with the locals either - only 663 signatures.
bang on. none of these stadiums should be built without a train station within a mile.
I don't plan to go back there any time soon
beverley* is nice though.

Are you a Chinaman, Ru ....?
;o)
lol...i thought he might have fell asleep on his keyboard.
It's a mission to say the least....thank God it wasn't raining!
Most of us missed the first five minutes a few years back as a result of this duff info.
Build a station I say.
A massive 690 signatures for the station now - are you listening Gordon?
Too right Addickted............it'll live long in the memory.
Why not help them?
What goes around, comes around.
What kind of comment is this really? A station would make it easier for fans home AND away to attend matches at the Ricoh, it would ease traffic problems and get people on public transport.
Personally it the current climate anything that can help people get to games easier should be encouraged, clubs across the board are suffering with the recession.
The reason the stadium hasnt got a station yet is because the strategic rail authority and network rail dragged their feet and the government pulled the funds as in the first instance as the cost ratio wasnt good enough. Now that ratio has improved as has been shown in the recent joint report by Coventry City Council and Warwickshire County Council but the recession seems to have pit the Kibosh on the new proposals.
I just thought Id share it as before I lived in Cov trips to the Ricoh were a pain in the arse with expensive Taxi fares.
