[cite]Posted By: Airman Brown[/cite]The answer to the conundrum is that I live in two different places
Jeez - not even been elected and already he's got the two houses in place ready to be "flipped". You'll go far.
LOL - fortunately that's been stopped. I will be putting in for a moat and a duckhouse though. Don't know what the neighbours will make of it in Welling.
Good luck Rick. You'd have my vote if I lived in the constituency. I am no natural Labour voter but I can't bring myself to vote for Cameron and the snake Osbourne. I'd rather let Gordon Brown get us out of the mess or cook his goose.
Good luck Airman. If I still lived there you would have got my vote. Have always voted labour except the last time when I could not bring myself to vote for Blair after Iraq. Our voting system needs reform but that is not going to happen eh.
And a few dozen other issues I would be delighted to enlighten you on, if you would like to have a public meeting I would be delighted to discuss these issues with you! .......
Which is why I suggested you have a public meeting Rick to discuss your policies.......
Why not hire the Freemantle Hall in Bexley village and have an open evening so that the community can ask about your policies......
I see that you did not answer any of the questions that I posted..... you are getting the hang of it already.
Interesting that you are a governor at Welling school, a non selective school that has turned things around. Cannot beleive that you went to a non footballing school like Chis and Sid, though, they are all egg chasers there, so as a product of the selective test are you supportive of this!, and on what educational grounds do you base it on!. Be intereseted to know as an ex governor myself and qualified teacher. By the way I took my sons out of the selective school they went to to go to a non selective local school, and my wife teaches at a local school in the 'exclusion college'. I also resigned as a governor ( from old bexley C of E) as I did not believe that the selective test was based on the educational needs of the children, but to retain an elite devisive grammar stream/school. Just interested to see your views on education, and how you put them into practice .
Airman - I would've thought a moat in Welling would be a shoe in. And a big drawbridge, battlements, an electric fence and a permanent garrison of well armed men.
Appreciate the various comments, for and against. If people want to follow the election campaign in OBS there's a website for that purpose at www.oldbexleyandsidcup.com that I'll be updating regularly over the next few weeks. Content's a bit thin at present but will be developed further. I'm happy to respond to political emails made through that site or via rick@oldbexleyandsidcup.com, but there's a lot to do between now and May 6th/7th and I am also continuing to work part-time for CAFC (as I have since last summer's redundancy round) so you may have to give me a while to respond.
I just don't get all the Good Luck comments. What do people mean? Are they hoping for the majority of Tory voters to "unluckily" put their X next to Rick's name by mistake?

Despite my age I am pretty sure I recall Airmans first ever public speech at North Cray Infants, on his last day he presented a book to the class, if I recall correctly his Dad worked for Collins Publishers and provided the book as a leaving gift! Old Bexley has no finer candidate!
Exchanged a few emails with Rick today, must say I felt tempted to vote for him, although I think I am probably more old labour than the current state of the PLP are at present! Very decent of him to take the trouble to bother to reply, and will have to go along and see how he performs. I would like to think that he can have an effect on the local voters, but there are a lot of blue voters around here, despite Conway's antics.

Can't be too careful.
How about another good idea British jobs for British workers ?
or how about this idea "tough on crime tough on the causes of crime" ?
or how about devolved power ? i know lets give everybody MORE democracy except the people of England who pay for it.
or how about us having a vote on Europe ? sounds like an idea.
or how about "cleaning up British politics ? " no more sleaze" -------------yes indeed what a good idea ---13 years and what did they do ?
13 years and people still want to vote for this bunch of skanky whores ???? ( no offencerick im sure your not skanky or a lady ofthe night !!).
It will probably need something like that...
