A real treat - moving between touching works dedicated to his mum Kate Mcgarrigle who died in January, to light hearted hits. Not many artists can ask the audience to be totally silent for the whole first half of the set and it be totally respected and enjoyed. He talks and sings about his family in a loving and honest way that ive never heard from any other songwriter. It wasnt a gig that you leave with a huge buzz and ranting about any special effects or momentus moments but you feel that youve shared a warm evening with moving and inspiring songs.
I think he has one more gig in manchester on thursday, highly recommended.
