I think wages come into this alot, I imagine Traore was on alot more than Thatcher. Well done Pardew.
I'm not a fan of what Thatcher has done BUT he will fight and scrap and has something to prove, 500k for someone who can go straight into the first team, not a bad bit of business.
Also will suit the Championship alot better than Traore if we go down, think Pardew has that in the back of his mind.
All in all Pards is building a team who will FIGHT relegation, the days are gone where people play for the badge (IMHO) but some people will battle because they hate to lose.
A lot of it is about freshening things up, I think. There may be justifiable exits and unfortunate scapegoats, as well as those who somehow escape the chop..
