They'll be on the streets in a few years.

Are they still managed by Bill 'Kerb'ishley?

For some reason I've never properly checked them out.

I love Los Campesinos who are quite heavily Pavement influenced, so I'll have to get round to it

Well the gig was just superb. I'd actually kind of forgotten how good they are live. Brixton academy was just rammed with Pavement fans, all well up for hit as they played one classic after another. There performance of Grounded was something very special. Just brilliant.

Going on thursday can't wait even though they were always a bit hit and miss live. It always seemed that if Malkmus wanted to play they were great, if not they were a bit shabby. Was the sound any good? I can't recall a Brixton gig where it was. has been a while though!

I went last night and thought it was fantastic! I'd read some none to favourable reports on some of these comeback shows so was a little worried and although there clearly was bit of a divide between Malkmus and the rest of the band it didn't stop it from being an amazing gig. Played for nearly 2 hours and must have been 30+ songs! So glad I've finally seen them live.

I was near the front and just left of centre and the sound was very loud but crisp. Dominated by Malkmus but maybe that was just because I was over his side.

Woah top 5 is hard but in no particular order I'd have to go for:

    Shady Lane
    Heaven Is A Truck
    Gold Soundz
    Here
    Grounded

To be perfectly honest I have been to more intense Pavement gigs in smaller venues. I once saw them in a tiny club in Gronigen supported by Stereolab in 1993/4 ish around the time they released crooked rain, crooked rain, and just before Wowee Zowee. There must have been about 150 of us crammed into this sweaty Dutch cellar. That was a good one.

For me though, last night was just brilliant. The crowd were well up for it, Malkmus just played the guitar like no one in the World plays, Bob was running around the stage screaming and as for the sound... well, their performance of grounded was something that I'm so glad I've heard, I can now die a happy man.

Mentally hard to choose just 5:

    1. No life signed her
    2. Grounded
    3. Range life
    4. Gold Soundz
    5. Shady Lanes

    I actually have a top 20.

Does that mean you get Broken Social Scene supporting? I had tickets for their Monday night show at Heaven that I've had to sell now because of the Swindon game.

Ah I would have loved to have seen them at an earlier stage. Think the last time they were over here I chose going to a home game against Man City instead (think it was the Weaver time wasting one) thinking I'd be able to catch them on another tour only for my mates to get back from it telling me they that was the end of them as Malkmus had hung up the handcuffs on his mic and they ended on 'Here'. Last night made up for it!
