As part of the Jonjo deal, was wondering if Liverpool will be sending any players to us before pre-season starts?

Heard Spearing as well but he was playing Championship football last season so surely he wouldn't want to drop to League One level. He'd be a good replacement for Semedo or Bailey if they left though.

Not a chance of this happening, well not anyone that will do us any good, we might get a couple of youngsters who will sit in the youth/rerserve teams.

Just another lot of spin to placate any irate fans over the Shelvey give away........, sorry sale

Swindon and Huddersfield both had young Liverpool reserves on loan, they're the type of player we'd get I'd imagine, if we get anyone at all.

It would be good if you could keep us informed as the season progressing on how he is getting on. Obviously only what can be put in the publuic domain, but things like whats he doing for accomodation, do they look after him outside football and how etc,. It would be an interesting story.

Yeah i certainly will. He's got a few properties to look at when he gets back from holiday and they seem to be looking after him really well.

Not one quote in that story from anyone at the club. I wouldn't mind betting its a lazy reporter filling up space. Its my opinion that he, gerrard or torres aint going anywhere. I could be wrong but that report was written without any strength to it

In fairness that's going to be an off the record chat, no official is going to agree to be named on that. I agree with you, and I think he will only leave if another club come in for him, and even then I doubt Liverpool will get any compensation. Least the good thing for Jonjo is that any new manager is unlikely to have any funds to get anymore midfielders in front of him.

Would also be interested to know how Jonjo's doing through the season btw. Just cos I'm nosey really but should be interesting!

He's too expensive to sack, he's too expensive to employ. Best of both worlds for the bindippers and Rafa this.

    We thought that about Pardew.

We sacked him, paid him off ...... and still today 18 months later, paying the price.

now on bbc with quotes from agent, giving it a little more credibility. BBC link

Be mad to accept £3 million if he didn't have the Inter job lined up. That's £13 million he'd be missing out on.....

Benitez has apparently been sacked. Wonder who they'll replace him with, and what this means for Shelvey.

Probably increase his chances, as i doubt Rafa could have picked out Shelvey if you put Jonjo in a line-up with Mr T, Darth Vader, Penfold from Dangermouse, and Rusty Lee

If they've got any sense they'll replace him with Roy Hodgson after the season he's just had with Fulham - turning a bunch of average journeymen into an excellent team. Won't happen though.

Their best be would be to sell Gerrard (who looks like he has passed his sell by date anyway) and the injury prone Torrres for as much cash as they possibly can and to start again with a new manager, possibly Hodgson.

The interesting, but often overlooked, fact about Fulham is that they are in mountains of debt and will be dead in the water once the conspiracy theorist pops his clogs.

Hodgson knows all that and realises that he has taken Fulham as far as he possibly can so would jump at the Liverpool job if offered.

Benitez should take the 3 million or he will look like a right prick once the season starts and they are still shite under his management.

Rafa will be gone in the morning. Rare that Oliver Kay and Henry Winter don't have the inside track.
