Good report, as previously mentioned I've done Football Aid at the Valley 3 times. Played with Simon Webster, Colin Walsh to name two players. I have been managed by Theo Foley and Eddie Youds. It is a fantastic day and as near to being a pro footballer as you will ever get, albeit for one day. Oh yes, I packed in playing a couple of years ago and I can say that my final game of competitive football was playing for Charlton Athletic at the Valley!!!! Not forgetting its for a great charity. Just to say many thanks for your support bibble, we're delighted to hear you've enjoyed your experiences over the years with Football Aid. In answer to the question about the winner of the competition, just to clarify the winning Charlton fan (a Mr Davis) was picked on the 12th May from the entrants to the News Shopper competition and played in the No 5 position in the Away team on the day.
For anybody interested in getting involved in future we would normally launch positions on the http://www.footballaid.com website around mid-August, for the games that take place the following May. In addition if we do run another competition with News Shopper next season you may even have the chance to win a position.
