Doubt it makes much difference. I don't think he was particularly wanted by Benitez - I think it was more a case of Liverpool as a club needing more English squad players to meet new regulations.

Guss Hiddink at 12's with Bet Fred looks good imo.
I was thinking of Hiddink but he only recently became Turkey manager and from what i recall he's notorious for always wanting to stick to his contract. So unless Liverpool let him manage Turkey as well i doubt he'll go there.
Seriously would expect Hodgson to be a serious candidate and sure he would give it a lot of consideration. Last possible top job in his career and Liverpool still represent one of the top jobs in England possibly Europe.
An English manager may also be favoured at Anfield, can see Steve Gerrard being more inclined to stay and work under an English manager whilst Hodgson also has excellent ecperience and an eye for an excellent player at a decent rate which would suit Liverpool as they do not have loads to spend.
The p[roblem is that they have no money, two american twats owning it, Gerrard and Torres liekly to leave and leaving behind over priced rubbish. Can't see a top classmaanger going there, could see them finish below 7th next season. Only maanged to get to europe this season coming 'cause Portsmouth did not file their paper work.

Fair play, nice gesture from Rafael Benitez.
Nice work if you can get it.... out of Liverpool into inter! a couple of days later. Oh the hardship of Lake Como, Italian Villas, lovely woman, exotic cars, the worlds finest food, sun, and oh a half decent football team, with about £80,million to piss away on players... Now where is that phone number for Torres, and Messi...........

No, it's not. It's clear who one fan wants. The rest seem to want Hodgson out - which isn't the same as wanting Benitez back in again.
Still, would love to see him go back there, take them down and then blame everyone but himself.
True, he left them in the mess that Hodgson found them along with the two useless yank owners.

Where does that leave JJ actually?
