    I'm sorry, ValleyGary, I love your patriotism (I remember another thread a few days ago), but England are being well over-rated. Every major tournament generally proves that qualification records mean nothing. Even the group games in the tournament often mislead and another team gets stronger in the knock-out rounds (normally this is how the big four win through in the end). As for Portugal - who knocked us out of our last two tournaments?

    There is no way that we are EASILY Top 8. Eighth maybe at a stretch.

    And don't get me wrong - I desperately want England to win. I have a replica shirt, can't stop thinking about the World Cup at the moment, have a flag ready to put out the window on the days we play etc etc. Just that this year I refuse to believe. I hope. It's the belief that hurts you.

    Portugal was 4 years ago!...Not only did we play a percentage of the game with 10 men but we had a manager with no arsehole and no clue. Things have changed and i believe England have changed. Obviously i live in hope but my element of belief has greatly increased under Capello. Easily top 8 in the World.

    1. But the fact we played with ten men just gives you the real reason why we never succeed. We have far too many players who will do something stupid in a match. Our team is currently filled with the biggest load of arrogant, hot-headed, big-headed numbskulls that you could wish to find. Nothing the manager can do to change that. Although I wish them well!

    2. Portugal may be 4 years ago but many of the same players remain - Ronaldo for starters. And Rooney, the man who got sent off. It's almost as if you're trying to prove my case. Just how many of the same players will we be watching again.
    Rooney, Cole, Lampard, Terry - who else?

    Rooney has matured for starters. We also have this nack of grinding out results with Capello in charge. Never did that under Sven or the wally. You say theres nothing the manager can do to change the ego's and personalitys in our team, well Fabio wont have that. You may not like Terry & co....but they do care and they will do a job for their manager.
