Dreadful referee, where do they get these clowns from? The refs for this tournament should only be selected from the top dozen or so leagues around the world.

Khalil Al Ghamdi apparently from Saudi Arabia. He obviously refs week in week out at a very high standard!

It's crazy, he is reffing Sunday league level games week in, week out. You can see he is loving the limelight though.
If a refs country goes through to the final rounds (eg. Spain, Holland, Italy, Germany, England, then do refs of those countries come home. So basically we end up with refs of smaller nations reffing the bigger games? Or have i got that wrong?
I'm looking at the list and one ref is from the Seychelles! Do they even have a league for him to ref in?
The ref is ridiculous....and what makes it worse is players trying to take advantage of it like that Swiss defender who dived to the floor holding his face.
The refs at a World Cup should be the best in the world, not a representation of every area of the world.
[cite]Posted By: ValleyGary[/cite]Not a great result for Spain. They will need to beat a decent Chile side in the last game, as you would expect the Swiss to beat Honduras.
Also it's a massive game for Chile, when the draw was made they were all hoping to play the Spanish. A lot of national pride at stake. A guy at works Mrs' is from Chile and apparently she's been litterally counting the days!

I think it's a great result for Spain as it keeps their fate in their own hands. A draw would've put the Swiss on 4 points and with them likely to beat Honduras they'd have 7 and win the group meaning that Spain would probably finish 2nd and likely play Brazil in the last 16.
Spain would surely prefer to win the group which they will now do if they beat Honduras well tonight and then beat Chile.

Are you Jamie Redknap?
Just booked a bloke for getting fouled in the box. Great ref.

True, although Chile now only need a point to win the group.
Great game which could easily have ended up with 4 or 5 goals for Chile.
Could turn into a very harsh group this one. If Spain win both their remaining games and the Swiss beat Honduras then a team will be going home despite getting 6 points, which is harsh when you consider that England can win their group with 5 points.

Theoretically, teams can win their group with only three points...
[quote][cite]Posted By: Chris_from_Sidcup[/cite][quote][cite]Posted By: valleyman[/cite]I reckon Chile v Spain will be a draw and Spain will be going home early...lots of lost bets there.[/quote]
It'll be a great game. Effectively the knock out stages will start a game earlier for the Spanish.[/quote]

It's getting out of control, I know raising an arm is asking for trouble but these over-reactions are going to ruin this world cup.

Deserved that for playing all the football and doing all the attacking.
