I was tempted to go down the buy to let road a few years ago, rather than keep stashing away for a pension. Glad I didn't follow that advice now as the Government would've soon cleaned out much of that source of income. A postman pal is still raging about how his plans for an early retirement have been well and truly skewered. He has to work for ever now despite a bad back and is currently on sick leave. I am now 60 and want to continue full time but am concerned that my pension might be less in a few years time if local government decides to move the pension goal posts.
