Blimey the power of todays footballers is something else :-
Thierry Henry is set to meet France president Nicolas Sarkozy on Thursday to explain the national team's chaotic World Cup campaign.
The Barcelona star had called Sarkozy to request a meeting upon the team's return from South Africa, where they finished bottom of Group A with only one point.
Les Bleus' plans were thrown into chaos when striker Nicolas Anelka was sent home after a dressing room bust-up with coach Raymond Domenech and the rest of the squad refused to train on Sunday in protest.
"Henry called the president from South Africa to tell him that he wanted to see him on his return," read a statement from the presidential palace, L'Elysee.
Captain Patrice Evra is thought to have led the players' protest and was dropped by Domenech for the final group game against the host nation.
France had to win to have any hope of qualifying yet the 2006 finalists crashed out at the group stage after suffering a 2-1 defeat.
